How to spend all builder charges on districts?

Dear community,

I recently built the Royal Society and according t the description is should enable builders to spend all their charges to increase the production of a district.

I don't know how to do this. I bought builders and moved them to a district location (tested with neighbourhoods and harbours) but there doesn't seem to be a new icon for it. Also in the city view I couldn't see anything that would tell me how to use the special ability.

Can someone how to do this? Maybe a mod is blocking this ability?

What Kaspergm said. The only civ that can use builder charges to rush the production of districts are the Aztecs.

Thank you very much for the clarification. I got it wrong. I thought that a "project" was not a literally a project but a project in terms of building a district.

Yes, that would indeed be much more useful. Notice however, that there are governors who lets you buy districts with gold (Reyna) and faith (Moksha) respectively, once they reach a certain level.

Yeah that would make sense too, projects are the things that are at the bottom of the city production screen and most of them are for increasing your great people points

I can't figure this out for sure...

Does the number of charges a builder has left influence how much production goes into a project (e.g., a space project)?

It doesn't seem so, but want to know if anyone has tried to test this.

Been wondering about that too.

If it does, I've never noticed it. Seems to be the same for workers with all different sorts of charges. Generally I find it incredibly weak, often only speeding things up an extra turn on epic.

Sometimes I notice it doesn't even speed things up a full turn...especially with the laser station projects.

I've been playing under the assumption that it does matter, so for example I would get those builders from a city with Liang. This is from the wiki:

Builders gain the ability to use all of their charges to provide bonus Production to a District Project. Once per city per turn. (Each builder charge grants 2% of project Production)

But I would also like to hear from someone who's done the testing, just to confirm.

Yes.. heavily tested by the Chinese and semi checked by me.. also affected by project production bonuses like Hong a Kong and Pingala... try a Chinese builder at 8 charges.

So this would seem to be correct. The actual argument for that modifier is 2 and the effect is "EFFECT_ADJUST_PLAYER_UNIT_PROJECT_PERCENT".

There's nothing overtly in the code that would indicate that the number of charges left would influence project production bonuses. However, if testing indicates otherwise, it's likely something buried in the dll coding for the EffectType or an ancillary effect from other modifiers.

yes correct, I recall they changed it from 3 to 2% in some recent patch.

found it now, it's in the arctic summer patch: "Reducing power of Royal Society Government District Building (reducing percentage-per-builder-charge from 3 to 2)."

But note in the following it says per builder charge and yep, tested. Try with 8 charges, Pingala and Hong Kong. You just do not need a high prod city, just royal society.

Yes, I understand that it's a % PER Builder charge and I know it's been tested. My point still stands as even the Pedia doesn't mention how the specific mechanic works -

Sorry, are you saying that if a Builder has 8 charges and uses a single charge, it will grant 16%? Then the next charge will grant 14%, and so on?
