Hi all
I'm still struggling with games on prince but I thought I had a diplomacy victory this time... but as usual some civ comes in the way.
I've been aiming for a diplomatic victory from the early start and I missed out on the AP but I've been able to build the UN and now I'm trying to make enough friends to win an election but Augustus is in the way and is more popular than I am. One problem is that two of my best allies is not friends. Through out the whole game they've been fighting with each other. The two are Darius and Suryavarman and one is always trying to make me cancel deals or go to war with the other causing me to lose diplomacy points when refusing. I've been favouring Suryavarman the whole time since Darius was good friends with Augustus in the beginning so now Darius has dropped from friendly to cautious so he isn't voiting for me. Meanwhile Augustus somehow made friends with Suryavarman and now Suryavarman is voiting for Augustus even though he's friendly with me as well.
So I don't know what to do now. Can I still win an DV through peace or should I maybe build an army and attack Darius and hope I can get some new friends that way or at least gain enough population to vote myself to victory...?
What do you think I should do from this point?
Note: I don't have alot of military right now since war was never my plan but I've build The Kremlin in case I needed the quick military back up. My economy is fairly good and could support some military spamming for a good while if I lowered my science.
