[HowTo] Play "Yet (not) Another Earth Map Pack" with CPP

Like a moth to the flame, I keep being drawn back to this map pack. Anyone using it? Any suggestions on what civs to include? If I leave things to random chance, I seem guaranteed to end up with multiple European civs eliminated before they can settle. If anyone in the CBP community is using this map pack, I'd love to know what settings and what civs you include.

I'm going back to it after a few games on Play the World Extended. Just have to finish removing specific City-States that would get in the way.

I frequently play on the 'Greatest Earth Map' which I think, off the top of my head is the 'Large' map, and not the Huge one. It was made by DJvandyke or something. It cuts off part of Canada/Scandinavia/Siberia.

Broadly speaking, my approach is to crowd Europe and the Mediterranean, while leaving the Americas comparatively free.

I typically play with the following Civs:

Europe:

1) England (Always)
2) France (Always)
3) Portugal 50%, Spain 50% (Sometimes with both Spain and Portugal together)
4) Germany / Austria (one or the other)
5) Greece / Byzantium (one or the other)
6) Rome / Carthage (one or the other)
7) Denmark / Sweden (One or the other)
8) Russia

Africa

9) Morocco (Always)
10) Songhai, 75%
11) Zulu, (Always)
12) Ethiopia, (50%)
13) Egypt, (Always)

The East

14) Arabia (75%) or Persia (25%)
15) India (Always)
16) Siam (75%)
17) Indonesia (Always)
18) Polynesia (Always - adjusted to start in Australia)
19) China (Always)
20) Japan (Always)
21) Mongolia (Always)

Americas

22) Maya or Aztec.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem as in Play the World Extended.

The Americas are too damn peaceful! The Shoshone and Iroquois never fight. Aztecs and America aren't strong enough to keep up with them. The Inca and Brazil will sometimes go at it, but even if one takes out the other South America is still dominated by 1 player. Shoshone, Iroquois, and Inca/Brazil always end up winning the game.

I might have to try something like Tubbilicious and leave the Americas mostly empty.

I honestly would recommend playing TSL maps "terra" style. Load up every Asian and African civ, sprinkle the rest around Europe, and leave the New World for post-Astronomy settling.

Is anyone having trouble with the Resource Exclusion list? I have the option checked, but I'm getting Bison all over Europe and other things that shouldn't be happening. I have the updated YnaempLoading.lua file.

EDIT: Looks like none of the More Luxuries stuff has been added to the list for the Giant Earth Map. Well that's something I can fix myself at least.

Also, I think CBP lets the AI move their starting Settlers? This is causing some issues with City-States. Any way to disable that or otherwise force them to settle on spot?

Using the in game editor to do it manually for them. Plot the city for them then remove their settler.

You can turn it off in the CoreDefines.sql (I think that's where it is) in the CP. Search the folder for the word 'start' or 'settler' and you should be able to find it – set it to 0 and they won't move.

Is it possible to run both of these mods to get more than 22 civs in a game? due to the fact its not mentioned here, and the fact I cant get that working after adding the fix, I'm guessing it isn't possible?

Projekt? This is not a German forum :p
You are the first one that seems to see this mistake. Sometimes I mix English and German  I corrected it ;)

:hatsoff: Congratulation, you won this special surprising trophy :trophy2:

Haha, "projekt" is exactly the same in Polish :D

Any1 has problem with CSs without Settlers? I often meet CSs' Warriors without any City settled :( Do I need download any addons/patches in order to avoid problems with TSL CSs? Happened on: Huge Earth, Large Europe.

Yeah, same here on Large Europe, only TSL for both civs and CS. Figured it had to do with lack of available (TSL) city spots when playing with "too many" civs -- my current game is with 20 civs and about as many CS.

I found Brussels in South America (lol). But I don't understand why they just aren't deleted, there is a script with tiles detecting and deleting CS, if itss too close to Civ...

I'm wondering, if maybe I need to download one of these addons:
- Madeira's Selection of ancient city-states to use with the giant map only (still beta version)
- Ynaemp City States for vanilla Civ5, without overlapping start positions and less CS to give more place to European civs.
- Ynaemp City States Extended, with 45 CS with TSL. Due to game engine limitation, only 41 can be loaded in game, and on those, some may be erased at start because of overlapping start location.
- Ynaemp City States for G+K: Add new CS to G+K, you can then use YnAEMP only spaced CS for G+K to remove CS that are to close from other Civilization (require G+K Expansion)

The add-on mods for vanilla civ5 shouldn't be activated at the same time, if you do it the custom game setup menu will tell you and refuse to launch. The add-on for G+K can be used together (And I'd suggest you to use both)

So, is there any way to force spawn Settlers for CSs? I'm playing now British Islands with random CSs locations and there are a lot of lands, but unfortunately, CSs spawn without Settler :(
