Should we consider this one dead?

Roster is no longer valid, and I have no other SGs to play right now, so Ill take a turn. 20 turns, is it?

Damn, completely forgot about it. Lost connection due to fire and when it was reestablished I concentrated on the Icy Islands. Let's get this sucker finished. Shouldn't be a big problem. Up to twenty turns, aye, and anyone can play

I suggest you contact a moderator and ask them to put the world OPEN somewhere in your title. Without it, people won't realize this is an anyone plays game...

How about PMing one the names listed as moderators.

Erik Mesoy wishes to bring glory for greece, and squeezes 2gpt, 2 gold, and a map out of germany. OK, WHO has been mining desert here? Mining desert is plain stupid.
1784: Athens produces rifleman, starts a worker since its stuck at size 12.

SParta produces a police staion- what the (¤"/ ?? It can build FP? We must get an FP built!

Thermopylae produces military academy, starts Army in 12 turns. Delphi produces cannon, starts TOE. Pharsalos builds factory, starts FP due in 12 turns. Uruk produces factory, starts aqueduct. Izibia make worker, starts a worker. Switch Eridu to courthouse. Switch smarra to courthouse. Hurry a factory in Kyoto.
1786: More workers have been working on the railroad... Reminds me of a serfdom. Serfs are not industrious, put you can just pile on a lot of them.
1788: Ive been working on the railroad...
1790: Mo-ore working on the railroad
1792: Catherine has Replaceable and Sanitation!!! Buy RParts from RUssia, buy Sanitation from Hiawatha. None else has Sci Meth.
1794: I get bored, so my forces decide to invade germany. I disband a bunch of cannons and swordsmen.
1796: Ive been working on the railroad...
1798: A lot of railroads are built between Delphi, Nippur and the nearby wheat.

1806: We have completed Forbidden Palace in Pharsalos. Our income goes from +86 to +135 gold per turn.
1808: Thermopylae builds the first army. I laod 3 cavalry in it.
1810: We lose our Incence. I get it back. WE have a horrid rep
1812: I've been working on the railroad...
1814: We discover Refining, we start steel. We have 4 sources of oil. I realize that we have no dyes, and must invade russia for some dyes.
1816: Started the preps for war. Our palace was expanded. Disease in Mycenae.
1818: Disease in Mycenae.

1 - Mining desert in NOT stupid. If you have a city producing 8 or more extra food and low on shields - mining desert is the correct move. With floodplains cities, this is often THE ONLY way to get more shields for the city. If I had desert being mine, it had a reason.

2 - FP due in just 12 turns? I would like to understand why you built it there. If a city can complete the FP in 12 turns, it is to close to the capital.

3 - I agree on trashing the swordsmen. Why in the world did you disband the cannons? Upgrade them to artillery.

4 - Why are you upset about Shakespeare? Unless you are going for a cultural win - this is a worthless wonder.

I have a few comments myself and more in the summary. FP in Pharsalos was a case of :smoke: Hlaf the benefit goes to arctic lands and the rest are hugging the coast. Babylon would have been a much better place. Mining desert is a good idea as they wont be able to produce any decent food until they've been RR'ed. Those cannons would have been so helpful. I invaded with lots of infantry and cavalry expecting nothing better than riflemen due to the large tech lead we had.... and discovered Infantry! I know I should have checked. My overconfidence got the best of me. Well, I've completed 12 turns.

Preturn: The line of Khaine returns to power and surveys the realm after their long absence. All appears well, but one thing bothers him. The large western continent is not ours. He embarks on a mission of shipbuilding and military buildup.

1826 (1): Argh. Several tiles are still unimproved, whilst useless tiles are irrigated/mined and railroaded. This can't be right!

1828 (2): Why has jungle been RR'ed before cleared? I don't get it...and our northern province is severely underdeveloped.

1830 (3): MMOW

1832 (4): Combustion discovered (this late?). We start Mass Production. Invasion fleet sets sail. MMOW

1834 (5): Battlefield Medicine built. Why do we have libraries and not temples? Why are some cities still without marketplaces? MMOW

1836 (6): MMOW

1838 (7): Ivory sold to Egypt for 25/t. We invade the Iro though they have a MPP with France. We can take them!

1840 (8): War declared with Iro and France.DAMN! They have Infantry. How have we lost our techlead???

1842 (9): Superiour Iro forces hit us hard. We could be in real trouble here.

1846 (11): Things are bleak. Very bleak. Our forces are being pushed back and our cities riot. We lack the basic necessities in several provinces.

1848 (12): Flipper falls. Furious rioters overthrow the President.

This is simply too frustrating. Several artillery pieces arrive soon and tanks will be available in one turn. It is not impossible to turn around, but we're in a very messy situation. Things that should have been built ages ago are still not build and our military and economy is exceedingly weak. How we've gotten into such a mess on warlord is beyind me, especcially considering our strong position after eliminating Babylon.

I feel like going postal

EGADS - The fp placement was worse than I even realized

I am glad you agree on the cannons - Pure :smoke:

Railroaded Jungle? I know that wasn't during my reign. I was working on getting a thin-rail net completed. Of course, I couldn't believe that 100% of the workers weren't allready doing that.

I understand the infanstructure comment - I couldn't believe how far Greece was from factories, yet I found large cities without them.

I wasn't in the game enough to answer the weak economy / military situation. My turns we trying to get the badly needed factories and thin-net.

Yeah, I noted the railnet. Was a bit amazed to find mountains railed around sixe 2 villages...and the mountains unmined.

My turns were mainly spent on getting an army built so we can pack a punch. Things are so bad now that we're going to have to beeline directly for the techs needed for the spaceship. Domination is out as is cultural and we have no shot at diplo.

I also got the coreland infrastructure up to speed and upgraded our few galleons, but somewhere everything has gone wrong. It is still winnable and if we can get something like 40 tanks we can make a hefty dent in the other nations.

It is quite interesting though for another reason. I've progressed to Regent and am getting ready for Monarch (mentally ;) ) and I was able to spot the problems immediately. I've clearly gotten much better at the game, though I still lack a lot in the Ancient Age
