To me the Lanceros coupled with the Hacienda would make it feel more like a Gran Colombian culture in design, even though it would be called Mexican. At least that's how I feel. The design also seems solid and I understand the appeal of Soldaderas, but still I find the idea of have a unit from a civil war problematic. Like was said before Lanceros could have been the best way to represent the mexican military history having also a deep agrarian element associated to the Haciendas.
Our first colonial culture in Humankind! And first time representation nonetheless!
well, all the things were expected ^^ Thanks to the buddy, here, which suggested the Soldaderas.
But it's so good to see Italian and Mexican, being for the first time in a 4X
I am very happy to see Mexico on base Humankind.

Love the art, remember me of the rural movies from the "Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano".
Vip teased us, apparently Soldaderas is not a simple replacement of a generic unit, but of the generic partisan which is something elseRedacted feature, so we can't know more about that.
But seems more interesting than just an unit of gunner which an ambush skill or whatever
Wonder if there will be an agrarian nation in modern, maybe China or India?
And now we can have a World War I where not only are most European powers present, but the Zimmerman telegram was answered.
It definitely seems to me like, if the theme of the Early Modern Era was ascendant empires and the Imjin War, the theme of the Industrial Era is WWI and nationalism. A lot of the Industrial Era cultures either forged a national identity in the period, or struggled to contain them. And now we can have a World War I where not only are most European powers present, but the Zimmerman telegram was answered.

I absolutely love this line of reasoning.
Although I would like to point out that the one who "actually answered" the Zimmerman telegram and involved in the WWI was USA rather than Mexico, and USA isn't an Industrial culture
Considering they said Industrial only goes to the year 1920 in history I'm pretty sure we are going to get some WWII units in Contemporary such as probably a modern Japan EU at least.I honestly think the best way to think of the industrial and contemporary eras in humankind...is that they kinda sandwiched both World wars into one. right in between those eras.
some games it will feel more WW 1 and others more WW 2 depending of what cultures trascended. (with napoleonic and cold war on opposite extremes.) so it might not be so weird to have a situation with Germany, France, Mexico and the USA at the same time and still feel WW1 like.
Maybe sometimes it will feel like a big long Napoleonic era, and others like a ver early cold war.
