While twiddling my thumbs waiting for the Mac version, I took a peek at steam charts. It looks like Humankind had a launch day peak of 55k players. For comparison Civ 6 had a launch day peak of 165k players.
The implication is that Humankind may have sold about a third of what Civ 6's had at launch.
That's actually incredibly good numbers imho. It also certainly far exceeds any of Amplitude's previous games. That's a really promising start.
