Everyone has a different sense of humour, but some has it more off than others.

There's no need to over analyze the example perhaps, but I'd like to hear your view of the funniness of this video, which I found hilarious. I didn't get the expected response from another test group...

Link to video.

That video got a short laugh from me, though the fact that it was Russian made it somehow more funny.

I didn't laugh, but I did think "That's pretty funny."

I am more weird than I sometimes think.

..but it's so funny in so many ways...

Deer tries to violate woman - somewhat amusing.
Deer sneaks up when husband has his back turned from wife - more fun.
Deer trips away with wife in tiny steps while she gives out a desperate cry - very funny.
Husband shouts "Aaargh" when he notices the get away - very funny.
Husband about to launch after his wife, but quickly changes his mind, letting the deer run away with wife - hilarious.

I was in hysterics. Five whole hours it took just to stop me laughing hysterically. I still haven't completely stopped laughing. OH. MY. GOD. that was so hilarious, I think I'm gonna have to cut my balls off so the pain can counterbalance the hilarity of the video. And I'll record it. Then I'll watch it, and it'll be hilarious, because it's a video of some douche cutting his balls off. And then I'll watch this video again, and be in hysterics all over again. Except this time, I'll have no balls to cut off, unless they've regrown or I've had a transplant or something (I won't have a transplant. Seriously - someone else's balls? No thanks!), so I'll be pretty screwed.

Was this funny? I thought it was a seriously poor attempt of being funny. I get what your going for but, it seems like you're missing the mark. I'd like to hear other reflections.

I think you might be over-analyzing it, sir.

Why? It's a thread about humour. Was he being serious? Was he trying to make a contribution or was he spamming/flaming or whatever. I thought it was fitting to analyze it, since I suspect he was going for funny. I didn't see the humour.

I did, but I think it was troll humor, which I don't think this thread somehow deserves. So, take that as you will.

Having lived in 3 different countries for at least several years each, I have noticed that different languages (and to a different extent, cultures) will find different things funny..

And it's even impossible to explain why I mean when I say that, because I'm communicating to y'all in English. When I switch over to "Polish mode" in my head, different things seem funny. They just do. OKAY!??

I remember reading somewhere that Americans generally like jokes/humor that makes fun of someone or makes them look stupid, where as Europeans like humor/jokes that make light of serious/macabre/taboo things. Dunno if it's true, but it definitely is true that humor varies geographically based on culture and all the other human variables.

I tend to find I enjoy "British humor", which seems to involve things inane. For example, Monty Python, Eddie Izzard, so forth.

I believe this is the thread you are looking for.

Not really, but I enjoyed the picture.

Is Polish humour cruder than US/English? I saw The White movie in the trilogy Tricolour, and while it wasn't a comedy, the mood, and I believe humour, in it was quite different from the other two, which were French made.

There is one joke that is always funny, irrespective of language, culture or nationality; one that can go so surprisingly deep and yet still lighten the mood when things get hard; one that gets better every time, can be done over and over every single night, and will always leave you satisfied and smiling.

Spoiler :
That's what she said.

Eh, depends on what the previous sentence was.

It put a smile on my face.

...meh, I know..

I'd appreciate hearing some more comments on the video in the OP. Is it fun, juvenile, don't get it or what?
