Except that what you call Goulash is called Pörkölt in Hungary. There is Gulyás is Hungary, from which the international name derives, but it is something different and not the world famous dish. So the gift should be Pörkölt.

I know. I was actually referring to the hunter's stew called gulyás in Hungary, not the pasta dish. I have a Hungarian restaurant in my city that I'm very fond of.

Canada is not small as well, but I did not like it. I want Inuit, not Canada. I would say it's just a matter of taste. I like ancient and exotic civs a lot more. Non existent ones etc.

After the second thought, Hungary is not bad, especially with Poland in mind.

Neither make a lot of sense. Canada is too young, and the Inuit were Neolithic hunter-gatherers. There are other indigenous peoples who make better sense for inclusion.

Oh wow, I was just in Budapest! This would have been my first choice for a new civ!

On a side note, I also got to see where Maria Theresa (one of my fav historical figures) was crowned.

You're right that size alone can be a dubious reason for inclusion. But size combined with being in the thick of an over crowded place -like Europe at the time- strongly suggests that something notable had been achieved.

Right. Just want to say that I love Canada in real life. I just don't enjoy playing with that Civ in the game.

I would like more 3D open world games to take place in Canada.

And Hungary should create their own version of Kingdom Come Deliverance.

There's The Long Dark. I haven't played it since it was in Early Access, but it's a good game. And the PC is voiced by Mark Meer/Jennifer Hale, so you can totally headcanon that it's Commander Shepard.

And Hungary should create their own version of Kingdom Come Deliverance.

More games like KC would be welcome, regardless of setting.

Completely agree re Canada. I was happy with the U.S. being legitimate in the game based on their achievements, and in a way representing the other modern countries like Canada & NZ.

Hungary I think are actually more worthy a contender, but yeah, not ahead of the Maya or Portugal etc.
Hopefully there's a third expansion planned!

That's right. I love the The Long Dark! I like playing it since the day it was released in the early access. And Raphael van Lierop is such an awesome person. Actually, I do follow him on Twitter.

The Warhorse Studios, man - that's how Classic RPGs should be made in modern times. Perfect game but not for everyone.

The game is set up so the The Leaders and The Civilization are separate modules, so yes it makes no sense for Matthias Corvinus to have paprika, but it makes sense for Hungary to have it

Eh, I can't say it bothers me that much since those are absolutely things that can happen in game (well tomatoes and potatoes aren't there, but you get my point!). This game thrives on anachronisms, so I think it's fine as long as it's quintessentially Hungarian (which it absolutely is).
