I am really getting PISSED at 2kgames

OK. Here are my gripes:

1) They can't keep their website up.

2) They don't respond to support emails.

3) They don't answer their support phone and then throw you out to a dialtone after 5 minutes.

Are they actually trying to infuriate me so much that I take the game back?

More people are stuck with the game than have the option to take it back (most retailers don't allow software returns).

I think the industry has fixed itself in a position where they can take the hit. Think about it.

All sort of rules are created to limit liabilities and subjegate retailers, making it difficult for the consumers to get their money back.

Throw it in a box and call it done? Heck, now they can put an EMPTY BOX on the shelf.

Before giving up it would be worth it to really dig through these forums. If you post a detailed decription of the problem and your system someone eventually will point out where the problem is.

I was ready to throw out my discs too but the info on these forums helped to finally get that silly game running.

played 12 hours yesterday...no crash...ugh... addictions....

I think they ae past that stage now.

Tell him to run straight to my house. I'll be happy to show him what I think of this virus he unleashed known as "civilization IV."

By the way, I would reccomend that every single person on these forums who is dealing with this 50 dollar civ 4 coaster set write a letter (send it by mail, email means nothing these days) to firaxis and to the retailer you bought the game from. Firaxis deserves to pay for this one and what better way than to convince major retailers that carrying firaxis games in the future will be more trouble than its worth. I know I'll certainly never buy any game they put out ever again after this sham.

Hahaha once again its not loading at all right now.

Gotta love how on their front page for civ 4 they have that section titled "latest from the forums," which is made up threads that are not the slightest bit "latest" and are blatantly hand picked to make sure they aren't about the massive glitches and crashes with this "game."

I hate them too. I am also really disapointed in Firaxis, I guess I thought they were better than this but it goes to show you how wrong I was. Firaxis and Take 2 both suck.

I'm not going to buy Civ V when/if it comes out. I liked Orion too, but I'm not going to buy any interations of that. I liked Alpha Centauri too, but I wouldn't buy any follow ups for that now either. I haven't even been able to get through to their site, and something tells me that this fansite is doing a fark of a lot better job anyway.

I'm very dissapointed. I loved Civilization. But this is bollocks.
