I can't play

I bought Civ5 when it was released and have played countless times. I hadn't played for while so I tried to start agame last month. Steam blocked me saying I have a new computer or browser . I do not. So apply for a new password and steam responds quickly but the new password is rejected with the same note.
I tried reinstalling the game useing my wifes steam and password but I get rejected saying the game is already registered.
I can't log in to steam to ask questions because they won't accept my password.
Is there any way around all this?

The you have a new computer message is from steamguard you need to check the e-mail your account is registered to for a code:
