I know this thread can lead to a firestorm but seriously. Where do folks get off thinking that Civ VI is NOT a AAA game?

Its the flagship of Firaxis.


I have choice adjectives for the folks on Steam, they seem a bit immature over there (in my opinion), or at the least they all seem like an 'entitled' bunch.

It's not a AAA game yet, insofar as it's not a completed title yet. It probably will be a AAA game, and unless they break trends from the last two releases in the flagship series there will be issues that are unacceptable in AAA titles to lend some credence to the steam community claims. I'm hoping 6 does break those trends, I'm tired of decade+ old UI issues and bad MP in TBS.

For example, if Civ 6 release has MP in a state that Civ 5 did while advertising MP, I would find it difficult to fault someone for saying it falls short of AAA standards, though it'll still sell like (and at least commercially be considered) AAA.

Basically big-budget stuff with solid advertising. Granted, that also means stuff like call of duty is AAA, for what it's worth.

Well said. Maybe it's the releasing unfinished games thing... and leaving them unfinished for years or forever.

It has me on pause.

That said, I would pay double... Just finish the damn thing.

We have friendly relationships with other Civ fansites and would like to keep it that way. Being disrespectful towards them or whining about happenings at another Civ site is not permitted.

^^^ I made a thread just to generate forum discussion. I love our community and I lurk here pretty much all day soaking up all the info our 'fanatics' community posts.

This forum is a FAR cry more mature and informed than the steam forums.
