I got a copy of Warlords

I'm very disapointed about how the Rise of Rome scenario seems to work out.... but I'm so addicted to the Civ series that I'm going to buy any expansion anyway..... Civ is like opium to me....... :crazyeye:

Hello guys :D

I was not lying about things you know, I took a screenshot of the watchtower I saw in Civ4-Warlords see it for your self...

I really regret things got out of hand this way....

No new techs in the main game.
Ok. Thanks. Are there any notable differences in the tech tree or in what the techs give? I remember jon I think it was saying that Gunpowder gives Pinch now. Anything else strange like that?

Dean, why are you back to 2 posts again? You had 15 of them at least last night.

When the thread got deleted, the posts in the thread were also deleted so they no longer apply to post count.

Are you sure? Because I was pretty sure mine didn't drop back.

Any chance someone can post something like a .pdf of the warlords manual, since I'm not going to get around to buying it until the weekend?

Watching paint dry would be more productive way to spend an afternoon that wading through the septic leak that was that thread.

I'm not bitter. Not in the least.

Nope. Not me.

Yes, there are several things listed in the manual. Here's some of the lists:

UNITS:
Marines and SAM infrantry upgrade to Mech Infrantry
Gunships now move faster on friendly rail lines.
Increased cost for Preats
Decreased cost for Jags
Spies no longer have per-turn maintenance
Quecha now starts with Combat I
HA has -10% city attack
Cossaks are 15 STR, +50% vs mounted
Chariots have 50% attack bonus vs. Axes, but have withdrawl chance reduced to 10% <--
HA have 20% withdrawl chance
New: Guerilla 3, gives +25% bonus attacking into hills (Nice! Attack those longbows on a hill!)
Drill II gives +20% colatteral damage protection
Drill III gives an extra +20% colatteral damage protection (40% total)
Drill IV gives an extra +20% colatteral damage protection (60% total)

TECHS:
Changed some tech costs to reflect relative powers (not sure if this is changed from 1.61 or not?)
Gunpowder is required for Pinch promotion
Horseback Riding is now a Classical tech

They have also listed some 1.61 changes, such as Math increaing chops, and chops nerfed to 20 shields.

There is a LOT more... I will add more later

Yippii!! Death to the Axemen dominance! (hopefully)

That I didn't know. Interesting. Strange that the Keshik misses out on this... especially considering they were "withdrawl" specialists....

Crap! How is that good for the Celts or for Archery units. I would of thought the unit could attack from the hills... pitty.

Drill IV gives an extra +20% colatteral damage protection (60% total)
 What happened to the First Strike promotions

I hope the collateral damage protection is added to the 1st strikes.

BTW: anyone noticed this thread has had more than 4,000 views?

That would go well with Sankore University.

Wow. That is all different. Even cheaper Barracks! That would mean that an Aggressive civ could probably build it in one chop!

Castle is interesting. City Garrison/Raider providing defense bonus in forts AS WELL as in cities - interesting.... weird in fact about the raider giving defensive bonuses...

It sounds like they are making gameplay changes, to the point where it is not really making sense! City Raider... defensive bonuses.... ?!?!?
