It's an episode of Seinfeld.. it's called

Seinfeld - 112 - The postponement [phead divx]

and whenever I try to delete, open, or even so much as select the file, my windows explorer window will close and nothing will happen to the file. How can I get rid of it?

put the whole filename in quotes ("this is the file.whatever"). that should work. or if you have winXP you can just use the tab-option: go to the directory where the file lies, type the first few characters then hit tab and it should complete the filename (if you haven't several simlar named files)

Why does Windows do this with some files, it's really annoying? When I tried to backup my folder through the LAN, a few files in it were corrupt, which resulted in Windows stopping the backup. I had to backup just a small group of files separately, and if it didn't work, exclude that file. It took me over half an hour of active time to back it up...

Many of them were .zip-files, but also some old civ2 .sav-files...
