Yeah, there's not been much news, other than debate over the weird (our team suspects islands/one "main" continent) map and the mapmakers removing the Great Lighthouse.
Internally we are still discussing what to do though. I'm really hoping we do have a decision soon on which course to take, not worth delaying forever, so your input is certainly welcome.

Can someone provide a quick synopsis?? I'll do my best to read through the threads here, as well as the UN threads, but a 10 paragraph synopsis of some of the broad dynamics of this game would certainly speed up my integration!

Welcome Aboard 
I'm too lazy to type up 10 paragraph but i'll give a really brief summary.
*We are Carthage. There are 5 other teams and we haven't met anyone yet.
*We are on what looks to be a water map. The game admins used worldbuilder to put the Great Lighthouse in a barb city trapped in ice, effectively excluding it from the game.
*Our starting location is an island with room for 4 cities and the following resources showing: 6 wheat, 6 spices and 3 silver. We suspect the other teams have a similar start with balanced resources. We have discovered a landmass to our NE with explorer workboats- this could be a central hub or wheel.
*Techs: we started with Fishing and Mining. We have researched Agriculture-> Mysticism-> Bronze Working. Working on Meditation right now (no one has founded a religion yet so we are going for it).
*Builds: worker-> workboat-> workboat. Working on Stonehenge right now.
Our plan is to try to snag Stonehenge for the free monuments (works well with our charismatic trait). We will then focus on expansion and probably work the top of the tech tree (with a short detour to try to get Buddhism). We have two workboats out, we hope to make contact soon and get some good diplo relations going.

That was a really good summary I think, we're still getting some things organized but you're really welcome to help and do whatever. In fact we may be a little short on diplomatic cores too (when we do meet folks) since I'm not sure Bowsling/a couple others have been around recently? Maybe back sometime in a bit though, people are busy or away or whatever at different times. Anyway, we're planning to be a force and rule a mighty empire so welcome aboard.
