I need a book to read.

Don't read World War Z, I had to read it for a class and I thought it actually really really sucked. Mildly entertaining, but has about as much intellectual value as watching Entertainment Tonight (and yes, I understood all the deep crap Brooks tried to put in there, and all the political commentary and whatnot. I still stand by my statement).

Godless by Ann Coulter.

Havent actually read it myself, but a friend of mine (actually a lefty) said he enjoyed it more than he thought he would. Reading it might give you some insight on what all the hype is about her.

Do you read these kind books for classes? Wow I am jealous.

So, not all people liked it:sad: . Then I might suggest that Zombie "Enthusiasts" like me should read it.

What would make you think I would possibily like that book? I read the jacket cover, and decided that I would not waste another second of my time, let alone my money, on that tripe. Honestly, if I want shrill right-wing writing divorced of reality, I'll read CFC.

I checked out Now I can Die in Peace (which I'm really enjoying. It drags in some places, but there is no doubt that Simmons is one of the best sportswriters of my generation), along with Freakonomics and Moneyball. I think that'll hold me over.

Well, on the other hand, if you ever wanted to understand that point of view . . .

A couple side notes: my grandmother is a Coulter fan. I don't hold that against her. But some of the people in my ward are, and I do hold it against them.

Its funny?

Well....so much for tolerance and understanding of opposing viewpoint.

Why dont you just get a copy of "Dianetics" and improve your life.....

Thanks. Good to see at least someone gets what I was meaning...

There is nothing about Ann Coulter that is worth "tolerating" or "understanding." (S)he is pure evil.

Did you read the book? No? Then how can you comment on the book?

Anyway, she isnt any worse than Al Franken or Bill Mahar. I happen to think Al Franken is hilarious.

If only Franken and Coulter would move to Alaska and fight for a Senate seat there.

Best election ever (and it's far away from me!).

I'll probably end up reading that last Coulter book by next year...might as well figure out what the heck was in the thing.

Whether or not I've read a book of hers is irrelevant. Her views have been highly publicized by both the media and herself, in a variety of different mediums, including print, television and radio.

She is a self-proclaimed "mean-spirited bigot."

Definitely someone who commands respect.

How good is your portuguese downtown?
Not good enough to read real books yet I fear. I still kinda struggle with newspapers.

Its funny?
Maybe pity funny...but not real funny. ZMOG LIBRULS SUCK! HAHAHAHA.

Not every opinion is worth respect. If I want to read and understand conservativism, I'll go read George F. Will, or some papers from the Hoover Institute. If I want the side effects of Coulter, I'll go bang my head against the wall and save myself a trip to the library.

So because I don't like Ann Coulter, I'm a scientologist??

Besides, this book is blabbing about people like me (Christians, religious, and democrats) cannot exsist, and my intellectual peers are running around trying to subvert everything good and holy with this country. I'll pass on spending 20 bucks and a few hours on that. I get that enough from you.

:rotfl:

Anyway, if you ever anticipate having more time on your hands than you know what to do with, I read the entire book of Baseball by Ken Burns some 12 years ago.
