I, The Imperialist - Indie Dev Making a Civ-Like Game

We need politics to matter. Overthrown goverments. Incite riots. Infiltrate nations and force them into wars their people do not want. Divide and conquer. And all of that just to get your hands on those rare metals your factories need to build some chips so you can sell to the market and use to research bigger tech to keep your position as rulling power of the world.
Then how will it be escapism? :P

Nice map. Though you said it takes something like 30+ seconds to generate? On a high end PC? Does sound quite long IMO. Also, with so many tiles, how long of a game are you intending? Something to play in an hour? Day? Months? Need design details, what is your game going to be about?

We have start menu boys!

30 sec was for earlier map I did. It was million of hexes with additional effects. We are no longer using that map.

Game details are undecided
Thanks for replying.

I know this is your game, so please take my suggestion with a grain of salt, but shouldn't you have some semblance of a design? "Making a civ like game" isn't really a design. I've attached what I use for dumping game ideas into, which I find really useful in starting me in a direction when working on a project. It's a GDD in the most simplest form, which will help solidify an overarching design you want to pursue. Cuz from experience, without something like this, your journey will be a lot tougher. Having something written down creates structure, a plan, and gives you a list of tasks to put ticks next to (the systems and mechanics boxes).

Anyways, use it leave it up to you, I'm not telling you how to make a game. Just a suggestion from a game dev. :)

Thanks. Will check it out. But from experience games never end up being the initial idea. Its like a river. It changes direction constantly. Could be small things. Like idea for city generation that you fail to implement and suddenly your cities are totaly different and have different use case and feel. So grand plan is a falacy a lot of game devs falls into. I have general idea but details are blurry. And thats a good thing :)

No probs, good luck. :)

We need nice maps that look like Continets, Islands, etc. But Im bad at making them. You can try making it.
In Map Generator we you can click <Get JSON> and paste that JSON here on forums and I will add your map to the game

Made stuff look nicer, added start game wizard.
