I think it's time to replace the city sound?

When I was playing planetfall, when you go to your city menu, instead of listening to vehicles and clutter of sounds all the time, instead you hear theme song of your leader. I was wondering if this mod could do something like that but different, and add in many different sound for each religion, for example, if my kingdom has an order state religion, I should be hearing chants of light or something of that nature when i visit the city menu screen. If I have the state religion of the Ashen Viel or play as the hyboram, ain't I suppose to listen to dark cultist chanting things, and hearing suffering and screams of the damned?

I think it's time to replace the old vanilla sounds of the city menu and add in something custom to fit for the right place, and a custom sound file for those who don't have one... or better yet, one for each civilization just to make things a bit diverse.

I swear in the civ4 city sounds I can hear someone saying, "hi mom"

At least this isn't Black & White. In it, you would randomly hear someone whispering "Deeeaaattthhh..." while playing.

It's just plain creepy.

Doom 3 was probably the worst that I can recall, the babies crying in the back ground, the demonic moans and whispers

That freaked out my roommate the first time he heard it. Good times.

I think leader music would be good. Would take the least amount of work and you don't get to hear your own music that often.

Second that ... but then less in volume please. It should be more like an atmospheric background ... Imagine playing Hippus and that sound (as much as I like it) plays the whole time in full volume when you go into city view. ;)

Ja ... although I think it should be based upong the Civ rather than the religion.

For instance, in a hippus city you could hear the horses snorting and wind whipping through the streets, as well as loud market-goers in the background (mammon n all)

Meanwhile, the religion (if added) could be a purely musical cord in the background of the city noises, barely audible unless you are carefully listening. Mystical and in the Backdrop of the Day-to-Day goings of the City.

Infernal Cities would probably have crying, screaming, and moaning like Doom 3, but then in the background you would barely hear a mystical Musical number, haunting and eerie, for the Ashen Veil (perhaps similar to the Shieam diplo music)

I can't get over Ushram's time travel quoting of unit_666.

And we are unlikely to change the city menu sounds (patching sounds presents its own challenges). Some of the flavor mods may be hip to the idea though.

Off topic, but I find the time paradox mildly amusing.
