I want to share this great start!

Awesome! I'm giving it a try. I will report later.

Awesome start=awesome game :goodjob:

I lost a city to Askia(4th one) but i took it back after conquering London. I rush bought a workshop to let this city recover faster. I will probably buy an aqueduct too(he lost his ''rank'').

Still, this is pretty powerful stuff. Now i'm at peace with everyone and DoFed 3 guys. Any path of victory will give me a personnal record for sure! And pangea is the best map for insane results.

How on earth do you guys win in <250 turns? Turn 250 is usually when I start to invade another continent :P

Spain rocks. I one had Turn 1 Uluru (? Ayers Rock). Accidently deleted the save though. I will play this. I am not really good in Deity and this might help me to get used to it.

Hey I can't seem to load the save, says I'm missing a DLC.. anyone know how I can get it Id really like to try this map. I don't have "Oval maps" that might be in that DLC.

Maybe Explorer’s Map Pack DLC... I'm not sure though.

Nay says I already own that DLC.. I'm pretty sure i have a complete civ5 so this is bugging me big time :(

Complete still doesn't have Korea/Ancient Wonders. Maybe Korea is an opponent or one of the ancient wonders was built.

Correct!! it works now thanks a bunch! can't wait to test this out

Well, was an very fun map. Ended up winning turn 229 with a science victory. Only my second win on Deity... my other being with Ghengis Khan, so I've yet to win without some sort of big advantage...but it's coming.

Thanks for sharing the save! And thanks to Tabarnak for the 4 cities tradition opening which I used to great effectiveness here. I was easily able to withstand Lizzy's early rush and puppet London. Keep up the good work!

Cultural was still slow (around 249). However diplomatic end up being the fastest for me on this map. Turn 209.

To summarize:

Science: 230 (it was first run through on replay it would be much better)
Domination: 219
Cultural: 249
Diplomatic: 209

Huh... very interesting. Did you still go 4 cities with cultural? Wars?

Also, curious as to when people stop assigning each point of population and leaving governor on "production" for the extra bonus at pop growth... I find I'm leaving it on "production" focus nearly the whole game and manually assigning pop, but I probably shouldn't as when I allowed more specialists, my science went up by ~130 this past game. My cities also seemed to be smaller than others reported.

So when do you start focusing more on pop growth?

What policy order did you pick Attaturk?

Did you start with Liberty or Tradition? A mix of them?

For cultural? Goal was to try to get to complete Freedom as fast as possible and then the rest of the trees.

Full tradition (early aqueducts are awsome), piety up to 10% reduction, freedom full, finish piety, full liberty, (don't remember which was the 5th tree. Either patronage or Commerce)

Pre G&K I focus on finishing the piety first. In G&K it seems that finishing Tradition pays off, though I will need to do more tests to see if it is indeed the case.

For cultural I went with three cities. Madrid on silver NW. Barcelona on silver near GBR. 3rd city near whales. (4th city 1w of furs west of Barcelona. For all but cultural victories)

For science victory, NC was in Madrid, all other victories, NC was in Great Barrier Reef city

Yeah it was about culture.

You think that finishing freedom before piety is better? I was thinking about finishing Liberty for the 4th tree due to the free ge available for either SoH or Cristo like you probably did.

But i wonder if Liberty and his 5% reduction culture cost is better. But i agree that Tradition is hard to skip early on now :)

Possibly. Need more play testing. In vanilla my best cultural times were with one city + puppets so I did not care about that particular liberty policy.

With G&K you need more solid empire to do research, so it may be useful. At the moment, my gut feeling tells me to finish freedom first before reaching for liberty.

Freedom finisher doubles the cultural land improvement (largest source of culture for me) and legthen the golden age which helps with gold, hammers and culture.
