"Ice" status update

Will there be significant AI revisions in "ice"? I find that the AI rarely makes use of mages/archmages, interesting hero abilities, almost all spells, or basically anything advanced other than popping off world spells early.

I do really enjoy the mod anyway, but there seems to be so much more potential for the AI to use spellcasters effectively.

AI could be improved in a lot of areas...and would probably be the best improvement Kael could make at this point.

You can compensate for the silly AI by being a terrible player, thats *what* I do.

Well, like Kael's said, it's pointless to improve the AI for things that might get cut or changed before the end...

seeing as the change log as been posted 1 week before the release date so far, I'd say december 9th ;)

Is there a change log posted for the latest version? If so, I feel like an idiot because I can't find it.

Release Date December 16th -7 = December 9th not Release Date December 9th - 7 = Today. Hope that clears up what I'm guessing is your confusion - so no change log yet.
...right?

That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Nikis, as part of the FFH team, can see the current change log, as he is testing and writing for the game. It will eventually be released to the public (or has been in the past).

I think that the gaming press ought to be notified of the release of Ice. Civ 4 is an extremely popular game, and there's no question that FfH2 is the biggest and best mod for the game out there. I remember seeing stories in PC Gamer (back when I read gaming magazines) about the most successful mods for big games (stuff like Red Orchestra, etc). A write-up in a magazine (or on Gamespot or IGN or something) would probably tell a lot of people about the mod who would enjoy it.

Is the team planning anything like that? I know that they worked with the Firaxis guys on BtS; any possible connections there? I'm just thinking, that's all . . . the team's work needs to get the attention it deserves :)

From time to time there have been articles on FfH. Recently one in a British (?) game mag.
Personally I'd prefer such an anouncement to come a week or two later, given the typical flurry of patches, but yeah, that would be a good idea.
At the least a front page Civfanatics post ;)
