ICNES I: Troubling Future

Yeah a 25 point AIDS cure project aint suspicious at all

Stats are done.

Managed to get some internet connectivity in Texas.

From German Federation
To Japan

We will do everything we can to help you rebuild Tokyo. The Olypmic Games was to be a time of celebration and good sport. We lost all out atheletes along with 2 million innocent civilians. We will send you military and economic aid to help rebuild Tokyo and surrounding areas.

Actually, I didn't fire the nuke. I gave your people orders to fire a missile, and they did so, although apparently, this far more difficult act succeeded, while attempts to cause a general alert did not. I specifically said to try and scramble Chinese forces in the attempt to provoke some people with itchy trigger fingers to start shooting, thus faking an "attack" and provoking SEA-CO into shooting back. But none of that happened, in part because SEA-CO... doesn't have defensive plans...

Furthermore, the nuke wasn't on the missile, because everybody, in a fit of altruism, decided to destroy all but about 15 warheads on the whole of the earth. The missile was a cover story, and it'd be pretty easily to tell what actually happened from studying the blast patterns, though given the bomb was "one of the largest" (I presume this to mean "in excess of 10MT") there won't exactly be that much left to study.

Lastly, you don't know any of the above, and as far as the world is concerned, a missile of Chinese origin, from China, under Chinese military command, was fired at Japan, and Tokyo did explode in nuclear hellfire, and hey, somebdoy's gotta pay for it.

Anyway, being a terrorist conspiracy doesn't particularly work when it's just given away in public by the mod someone actually is conspiring very heavily and hey, these two events are linked. That pretty much just dooms you, and I'll admit when I first saw that, I wasn't very happy. That's mostly why I quit. That and you weren't answering my PMs and seemed likely to rat me out, mysterious benefactor, though I was well-prepared for such. ;)

But I nuked the Olympics. Hopefully Swissempire's terrorists will have an example to follow now. :p
Your just a Johnny-Come-Lately. I already chemically bombed London, and EMPed Europe. Though, the nuke at the Olympics, a mastersroke. Any terrorist can appreciate the awesomeness

You tried to EMP Europe.

I've decided not to continue this any further. I have the will to contine it. It is too difficult to mod and all the criticism of the plausibility of it and the nature of it: it's too much for me. I've got seven awards and I'll post them later. I know it's only been five updates but I'd rather end it up front than let it wither away. Later, I'll post the awards and then contemplate a new NES. An easier to mod NES.

The thing is Icmancin, you were a good mod - updating regularly, nicely done updates and so on. Its just that the material you were trying to work with had too many holes in it. Try a historical NES or soemthing - that way you can do research and say with authority why a thing is one way or the other.

Thanks Dis. Thanks a lot. Seriously. I know that I wasn't working with the best of stuff. I wanted to do a historical NES but I don't have the skill to make the maps needed. I am thinking of doing a 1900 NES but I tried and couldn't make the map. I'm htinking of reviving DraNES II because it had really god potential but Drake didn't have enough time to take it and run with it. If you know anyone that can make good maps, ask them if they can make a 1900 map for a future NES of mine. Preferably on te Jason Map.

Thanks Dis for the kind words.

Concur. A little more detail wouldn't hurt, but this was updated solidly despite having a limited number of players. A second try wouldn't be a bad idea at all, with something more stable to start with.

 Ic, this was great, it was amazing. pot them awards, and you will have a sem-permanent place in my sig.

Nah you just needed a more solid backstory a technology advisor and everything would be fine.

To: China
From: SEA-CO

We hope this was not caused by you. We ask for payment in some fashion to help rebuild Tokyo. I am mourned by the people who did this. We asked only for a few days of peace and we are granted with the greatest massacre in many years. Not just SEA-CO citizens but Israili, irish, german, italian, spanish, french, canadian, brazilian, and many others will never see their loved ones again. We will beg that we may be gifted with some reperation costs to rebuild our city. And restore its greatness, perhaps we can have the olympic games in Canada this year as we do not want to risk the lives of so many people.

*cough* Wubba, the NES is over *cough*

Wubba... It's over.

Awards

Best Stories: das. Witch Hunt was really good.

Most Persistent Player
: Swissempire. Even after the Kingdom was defeated he kept going.

Least Persistent Player: Concona. Never once sent orders...

Totalitarian: silver_2039. Those reforms are scary. So is your leader, not to mention your projects.

Best Orders: Symphony D. That is, until I blew his cover.

Best New Player: The Farow/Wubba360. This was one of their firs NESes. They played it well. Don't leave the NESing community. I may be a newb as well but it is us newbs that keep it going. The Farow: You've got a good NES, keep it going. Wubba360: Sart one. Start it now.

Most Innovative Player: KrimzonStriker. EMP weapons man.

There are that many awards because this NES didn't go for very long and there wasn't much interest. I thank everyone who did participate. This was the first NES I modded, and it was a step too large and too spaced out to be real. I couldn't handle it. It was a fun experiance though and I hope to see you guys around for my next NES. I think it'll be a revival NES until I get some better ideas through my head. Don't feel bad if you didn't get an award: you guys did awesome as well.

The End of the Troubling Future.

Great nes ice looking forward to your next one!:)

So what's yer next NES going to be? I've got some crazy ideas going thru my head....

I'd like to here your ideas. I have three ideas right now:

Reviving DraNES II: The Rising Stars (my favourite choice right now because I can start it... now)

Starting my proposed alt-hist as it is (which has received much criticism and I see why. It's on the second page. It is very unlikely, just as unlikely as this one.)

Redoing my alt-hist and then starting it (which would include new map+ruleset. I'm planning on scrapping this alt-hist if I don't fix it soon)

If you can give me an idea and a map, I'll mod the hell out of it.

Ah...I never got to unleash my horrors on the world....pity.

I would really like a World War II NES. I've been craving that. You can pick up Gelion's complete with map and stats and everything.

Oh yeah. I LOVE World War Two. It makes me study all areas of social sciences... Vote for it then.
