Many, if not most, SGs are DG or higher. I'm not there (yet). This thread is for us lower level people to post in with ideas for SGs. Note, I will not be hosting most of these. If any of the DG or above players have "ideas", please feel free to post. :crazyeye:

To illustrate what a warped little mind I have and to get things rolling, here's an "idea" I had. Again this is not a sign-up thread, just one for thoughts and discussion.

Potential AK4. Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. Standard CSC, Emperor. Random rivals. We start as a male leader. Any time we find a female leader, it's AW against her until she's dead. The reverse (ding, dong the warlock is dead) would also be amusing.

Hopefully everyone will find this amusing.

@ Moderators - if I've somehow posted in the wrong place yet again, please call in the napalm and move this to the correct place. ;)

I great place to plagerize ideas is over at the RBCiv Epics. They have some very challenging ideas. Just play it at whatever level you're comfortable with. Those variants will quickly challenge you and take you to the next level, ready or not. Even if it is only warlord to regent.

Agree, that is a very interesting thread. Lots of great ideas there.

@AK: That is a very good variant.

Lately I've been thinking about a somewhat suicidal variant and I suppose I'll post it here. I would not want to try this above warlord level. I was primarily thinking of this for the Celts, perhaps the Mongols or Vikings. I hope it isn't too complicated.

Barbaric

1. Restricted Always War
You are probably familiar with this, but the restricted part simply means no trading at all. Barbarians don't want to reason with you.
2. 5CCC (Five City Conquest Challenge)
I'm emphasizing the city part because we can have as many towns as we want, but only 5 cities/metropolises. Got to be mostly small encampments for us, and these can't be on every spot in the world, so conquest only.
3. Pro-Numismatist (Pro-Midas)
We shall not waste our earnings from our raids. We must never lose money per turn.
4. Cultureless
We as barbarians do not understand culture, moreover what culture is. Besides the Palace, no culture allowed. Edit: Doc had a good idea. No happiness buildings. Culture is fine from things like Libraries and such. No cultural wins though (if it were possible.)
5. Auto-Raze
We may not ever keep enemy cities. We can keep workers, but no cities.

I'll have to test it but it sounds like fun to me.

Hm, I think the 'No Culture' rule makes this really hard. I mean, either you trade for techs, or you have to research them; AW plus no Libs + zero Wonders...ouch.
And, no culture also means no MilAc or Pentagon, FP or CIA.
Maybe you should restrict it to no happiness buildings?
If not, better try it with Portugal...(SEA tile bonus, EXP)

Good idea starting this thread AK. Perhaps you're not a 'complete idiot' after all :P. If I have any good ideas I'll be sure to post them on here.

@viper - That barbaric variant sounds awfully hard. Definitly wouldn't want to try that above warlord myself.

Edit:
Just some silly ideas I just thought up. Nothing well thought out.
Agoraphobic: No planes ever. Doesn't have much effect in an early epic game, but could be interesting for the Pacific Conquest.
Aquaphobic: We're afraid to go into the deep end. All ships have to end their turn on the coast, even once we have astronomy.
Paranoid: Everyone is out to get us. We have to attack anyone entering our territory. Perhaps even without declaring war first.

@Doc: Good point, I think you have a good solution there.
@Keiji: It was kind of meant to be difficult. I like that paranoid variant.
OT: Rise and Rule is out? Yay! Been waiting for it, will have to try it. Edit: Downloaded and played, excellent!!! Great mod!

Conquest Age of Discovery: No building cities in the new world. No going to war in the old. Only way to win is to build hordes of privateers to sieze treasure.

Panic sets in. I now have to go look for more parts.

3rd Lt. Kutzov (my 10 year old) is looking for an SG. he's read the manual and I will help him (he's not a complete idiot like me). I'm looking for 2-3 people to participate in a warlord or monarch SG on a tiny map. BTW, i still have nukes to call in if anyone gets nasty. If I'm a fool for believing in his abilities, just tell me to STFU and I'll never mention this again.

I have too much going on in RL to join, but I'll be lurking there and will try to give suggestions.

Sure, AK, if it's a tiny map on Regent/Warlord, I think I have enough time for that. Perhaps it would be sort of like a mini-TDG? After his turns we could comment on them just to help him? Or no? :) Anyway, I'll help him if there's a SG for it. (I'm pretty young myself.)

Belief in one's offspring is an unavoidable flaw in the human race. :p

Either way, I'll sign up for that with you, AK. I don't imagine a warlord training game would be too time intensive.

EDIT: but for clarification puposes, you'll need to create a separate username for him.

EDIT2: I would propose using the Iroquois on a continents map. Iroquois are a very forgiving civ, and the UU is very effective, and teaches how powerful speed can be in civ.
