If human players had diplomatic modifiers...

I don't hate American people! i hate those who voted for Bush.

Well when factoring in half (or two-thirds) of the population is old enough to vote, and only half of them voted, and only half of them voted for Bush... If anything you should be made at the people that didn't vote, their the "ruling" majority afterall :P

Plus Rosevelt and Washington wouldn't think nice things of any modern politican in America, so you don't need to be mad at them except for the normal reasons.

agreed
and Fdr and Washington give you normal reasons to be mad at them:
- 10 : you backstabbed me in a previous game

-10 You are a quitter
-5 You boss over my team
+25 You support me with catapults
-2 You were faster
+5 You were too slow
-17 You cause lag
+10 You build lots of wonders (on team)
-10 You build lots of wonders (on enemy team)
+100 I'm speaking with you on ventrilo
+25 You have a funny accent
+5 You spread your religion to me
+3 You are building roads to me
+5 You like ffh2
+15 You ennoy me with tiny things. Good reason to war you.
+10 You have a double forest promotion axeman.

Xenophobia is an excellent reason for attitude modifiers and is already incorporated (if you will excuse the allusion) with an option: always war.

-10 You have a holy city! Must... be... mine...
-4 You asked my to convert to whatever it was you asked me to convert to.
-10 You're stronger than me.
+10 You're weaker than me
-5 You're forcing me to convert to a religion for the diplo bonus (I ussually use no State Religion, so I can have all 7 religions in the capital and major cities and get LOTS of culture. Who cares about happiness and great people?).
+10 You went to war with my enemy.
-20 You took a city that was once mine, but was taken by our mutual enemy, and won't give it back!
-1 You're Tokugawa or Alexander. (from my first civ4 game ever)
+1 You're Cyrus. (from my first civ4 game ever)

Which reminds me ...

-5 Your nation's Civ-colour clashes with my own. What? You want a better reason for that war declaration? Pfft.

LMAO and almost proved it. This statement does seem true though. Beats me what they were thinking.

Woohoo! I actually did. I don't care what anyone says, I liked him and Clinton both.

OT really quick so I can get this offa my chest: I was an army recruiter between 01 and 05 and what really burned my hide was people that said they voted for Bush, told me they support the troops etc, but don't ask their kids if they wanna join. I ain't talkin' rich folks either. And trust me half of those kids were ineligible because of criminal/ stupidity/ lack of paying attention in school and didn't graduate anyway issues. I'm convinced that a frighteningly high number of people in the US are just plain stupid.

Sorry for the highjack, that was just something that was itching for me to say.

+3 I had no religion and you've spread yours to all of my cities
+5 you're fogbusting for me
+2 I couldn't have taken that city, but now that you just moved those 2 longbowmen out of it onto the grassland....
+2 you weakened that barbarian/enemy city enough for me to steal it from you!
+3 you don't build enough military
+3 you hold the leading world religion and you have a pitiful military
+3 you have an enormous but pitifully oudated army

-3 your pitifully outdated army is full of cannons and artillery
-1 and you have railroads!
-2 you destroyed my clams yet again!
-4 you have entirely too many of your overpowered unique units
-2 you not only took the resources I wanted, you positioned the city stupidly
-1 your UN vote eventuated in me adopting stupid environmentalism
-3 doesn't your spy have anything better to do than to continuously destroy my sole source of oil?
-2 you started a golden age just as I declared war on you

-5 "Slap me again while turning down a trade and its on, byatch!"
-50 "That does it, IT's ON, byatch!"
-95 "All trade/demand options redded out but you demand something every other turn"
+20 (but youre gonna die) "You have a some techs I want but are within striking range and have a weak military"
-105 "You were guarding my flank but decided to switch religions for no aparent reason and now hate me"
-200 "My last hope for a win was to start a war, but you just upgraded every unit to mech infantry and will severly kick my rear end."

-5 Your borders pushed mine back the same turn as I completed the Great Wall! Now it looks funny.

I don't hate American people! i hate those who voted for Bush.

I voted for Nader. (Rhode Island would go for the Dems no matter what I did.)

I know it is off-topic but as an american one of the things that pisses me off so much about what bush has done is how we are regarded in other countries. I travel quite a bit and it used to be that people in most parts of the world had a generally positive view of america (of course some pockets of the world have hated us for a long time). Now a few short years later the best I can hope for is them just telling me how much they hate our government but that our people are ok.

My civ mod:

-8 You didn't vote for me in the UN even though we are close.
-12 You have nice land that is poorly defended
-5 You built a city near me
-4 You ask for a tech that I just discovered and want to use to build a wonder
+8 You are far away and warlike
-8 You are close and warlike
-5 You are my vassal but you still annoy me

Come join us in off-topic. People there love to talk about that kind of thing.

+3 "You are (slowly) building space ship parts when I am 20 turns away from cultural victory"
-1 "We just met and you're already annoyed"
-2 "We've been in peaceful terms for 1,000 years and you're still annoyed"
-3 "What? You're STILL annoyed?"
-57 "You're annoyed after I converted to your religion, civics, and killed off your worst enemy. Die, Tokugawa, die!!!"

-20 "I'm declaring war on you this turn"
+20 "I'm not declaring war on you this turn"

-10 "You just upgraded your entire army of level 3 city defenders for free while I have to take out a second mortgage to do the same"

-15 "You declared war on my while my army was campaigning somewhere else"

-1 "You offered a ridiculously stupid deal like me paying you civil service and 3000 gold for optics"

-50 "Your cities' culture is taking away tile(s) that I improved (x100 if city)"

+20 "You are my vassal and actually sent an army to help defend my land during a defensive war instead of taking cities i emptied of defenders when on the offensive"

-5 "You are not in a war with me or my enemy yet your culture border extends by 2x because there's a culture power vaccum"

-10 "You decided to plop a city in the unclaimed area while my conquored city was rioting"

+5 "You didn't ask for an expensive tech you put no effort into researching"

+5 "In the last 10 turns you haven't asked me to switch my state religion to yours even though mine dominates 4/5ths of the map while yours is practiced in like 3 cities"

-10 For some odd reason my Video card doesn't like your face. (Wang Kon and Mehmud II in Warlords, Fredirick and Peter in Vanillia but not in Warlords)

-6 I could use your land more effectivly then you, so stop building cities in my way.
