Igor1, team one thread

I thought the roster was
MadV
Bede
Whomp
Sesn
Viper
Tomoyo
(post #19). In which case Whomp got skipped somewhere. I guess he'll go after me? Or now?

I don't care either way.

@baseball: I don't have a favorite team, although I haven't watched it extensively.

Viper you go. It's all you!

Actually, MadV I'm a White Sox fan and b'nessman.
I have the nights/weekends Cubs season tickets. It's because they sell out every game which makes for positive impact to my pocket and it's fun to be passive aggressive at the games with my buddies who are Cubs fans.

I was supposed to trade my Red Sox-Cubs tix in exchange for a Red Sox-Yankees game at Fenway but the guy in Boston bailed on me.

IBT- Odinspally Archer-Settler.
1
Built Tours where that settler was, wasn't sure where to build it but that spot looked good enough. Starts Barracks.
2
IBT-Romans start GL. English start SoZ.
4
IBT- Literature-->Currency. Lux at 30%.
6
IBT- Paris Harbor-Galley. Odinspally Settler-Archer.
7
IBT- Hook up dyes, lux to 20%. Dyeville Barracks-Archer.

Not sure where to put the settler. I see green borders in Africa. Paris grows next turn and we'll probably have to find something to do about happiness.

We should start a research tally because I have no clue where we are at.
Anyone know the roster?

*I think* the roster is something like this:

MadV
Bede
Whomp
Sesn
Viper
Tomoyo

As for the research tally, here's what I came up with, reviewing the logs:
We started with Alpha and Masonry, IIRC (2)
We researched Pottery, Writing, Philo, and Lit (4)
We got MM as the free tech - I don't think that counts for researching (no beakers invested)
We traded for Wheel, IW, BW, CB, HBR, IW, Math, CoL (8)

Can anyone verify that? Do we have a total of fifteen known techs?

EDIT: Assuming the tally is right, I'll go back and update my first post for easier reference.

I think we messed up the roaster sometime and skipped Whomp... :hmm:

Do Alphabet and Masonry count as researched? No, right?

AFAIK, the only techs that we truly "researched" were the four I listed. Alpha, Masonry, and MM we invested no beakers in, and to my way of thinking didn't really research.

Whomp definitely got skipped, because of the intial swap, as I mentioned. Do we want to go with the original roster, or the roster including the swap? How do we slip Whomp in for this go around? Now? Next?

Please continue. Tomoyo might be able to play now so let's keep it moving. I will follow Bede. My presence has been requested in Arab Invasion Open SG. *emphasis on open hint hint*

Sorry, I had guests this evening, and thus could not get to it.

Are you using CivAssist and/or a happy face mod? Those are two things I'd strongly suggest to help avoid having riots.

the original roster:
MadV - Just Played
Bede - UP
Whomp - Actually gonna play a set?
Sesn - in the hole
Viper - twiddling thumbs
Tomoyo - Taking 6 of the last 7 vs the NL (ok, I know 6 of those were at home, but so what?)

EDIT: @AK:
Whomp said:
Julius has iron already and there is none in sight for us.

Hehe... I knew the Sox were doing really well lately, but the Mets have gotten my attention for the week. They got 5 out of 6 taken from them. :(

I guess it's like when a mother gives more attention to the trouble child.

:thanx: for the :bump:

I've been waiting for my number to come up, so got it. Play in the dawn's pearly light, if not before or after

Trading Currency to Greece for Poyltheism and his 47g gets Alex to Feudalism ( a monopoly) and get us to the Middle Ages revealing that Rome and X-man have Engineering, while Persia, Iro, Rome, and Egypt have the two government techs, while China has Monarchy, Greece lacks both, but now knows Feudalism, England knows neither government and lacks Currency. So I set research to Republic at 100% with two scientists, swap the settler building at Not Torreville to an archer for MP duty and the spear at Dyeville to an archer.

Then retink the whole thing. Since we are not building culture we are going to need massive numbers of troops in our border cities, so I take another look at the situation and decide that I am wasting cash researching Rupublic when I can buy Monarchy from China for Currency and a mortgage on the economy (202g+12gpt) and start the revolt. We are so small that we draw four turns but I have to stall the population growth everywhere to keep from going broke in those four turns.

And of course in England we have the big bad barbarian uprising with nione horsemen inthe camp and a warrior guard, so the galley heads for Ireland. I move the garrison out of Bacon Town and the barbarian horsemen attack getting 1gp for every horseman (50% of the treasury) but leaving one horseman fortified on the hill.

The horseman moves off the hill in 290 and the spear and settler land becasue the Iro have claimed the Irish horses.

The spear on the hill defending the settler kills the last barbarian horseman in 250. And the archer from French London cleans out the infestation and we get 3x our gold back. Cattlecanal is built on the hill.

The Bourbons ascend the throne in 250 and all is right with the world.

And the Iroquois declare war...attackong at Pete's Namesake. We kill an archer then lose an archer, but the Iroquois ignore the two workers.

In 190BC an Iroquois rAC appears at Pete's and gets killed by our archer.

Then two Iro swords appear and kill the victorious archer.

The two Iro swords attack at Pete's and kill the two spears defending.

And 150BC beef up the garrison at Pete's and the Iro will not talk.

We really need walls and a catapult in that town before the next Iro AC shows up....

The fleet (2 galleys) is postitioned for a shuttle service from Odinspally to Dyeville or Pete's depending on what is most efficient and Avignon is building a barracks to add troops to the eastern force.

Whomp - go whomp some Indians
Sesn - in the hole
Viper - twiddling thumbs
Tomoyo - Taking 6 of the last 7 vs the NL (ok, I know 6 of those were at home, but so what?)
MadV - Just Played
Bede - revolted but got attacked
