I'm trying to emulate a Mac on my PC (just for the memories), so I've legally downloaded System 7 from the Apple website. However, it's in about 20 files in the BIN format, and I need a single ROM to pop into the emulator.

Does anybody know how to work it? Unfortunatly, I don't have an old Mac to copy the ROM from. I've tried googling it, but no luck.

Thanks for help ahead of time.

Hey, if you figure this one out find out how to load Win95 from multiple disk files in an emulator like VMware. :)

BTW, what emulator emulator/VM are you using?

Also, quick question, did you try cat'ing all the files together into one?
Something like:
cat file1 file2 file3 [etc...] > newfilename

I'm using Basilisk II -- I'm still having trouble with getting it running, though. (GTK issues.)

I haven't tried cat'ing it, and I don't think it'd work, because Mac OS 7 is a lot different from Windows 95.

No, unfortunatly. That's version is up to 6, and it's 7 I'm after. I'll keep it in my bookmarks though, thanks.

The only LEGAL way of obtaining a Mac ROM is if you have an old Macintosh lying around.

(Personaly, I'd go with Sheepshaver since it can emulate from System 7 up to Mac OS 9)

Crap. I'll see if I can steal borrow an old Mac from the school board. They had them in my elementry school but now have upgraded. :)
