IMHO, Saddam will not get killed....

I think he believes that he will triumph. When he does not, he may very well try to go out in a "blaze of glory", taking Baghdad with him. Let us all hope the nuclear inspectors were right.

My guess is that Saddam will try to escape.

And if he has all those terrorist-contacts Bush says he has, I guess he will be able to dissapear.

The best thing of course would be to capture him and try him at some international court.

I also think he believes that he will win. And I am more than certian he does not care how many people die because of it. He does not have his country's intrest in mind.

He will practice scorthed earth policy just as he has in the past. It makes no difference that Iraq's future will suffer because of it. Oil wells will burn, factories destroyed, anything of value will be plundered by him.

I have also heard that he has already begun arresting Kurds (with suspicions that they are being executed). This is a blantent atempt to remove any movement to establish a different type of rule after this is over.

Also, on a TV report, they were interviewing a man from Iraq who is now a US citizen. As all males must serve in the military over there, he did as well. He said that Saddam places his elite guards in the back lines of an army with orders to shoot any Iraqi soldier that retreats, surrenders, or does not fight.

He is taking his country down. It is sad.

France is still trying to shield him in the UN even as I type this, with drivel about more inspections.

Well, he's obviously liable to 'disapear' at some point during the conflict. He must have a fairly secure escape route that he has prepared over the years for such an eventuality as this.

I say he's already left and his look alikes are there to fool us.

He'll die. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon. . .

Dammit, there I go again, making a joke out of a serious situation.

I do think he'll die. I don't think it will be by the end of the war. Nor do I think he'll be tried for crimes against humanity. No, one day, we'll open the paper and see that someone broke into his new little bungalow and shot him dead.

Maybe he'll try to make a last stand and like Greadius said, be another martyr for a lost cause. Although I don't trust him, he did say he would die in his country and never leave it - let's see if he lives up to his word by dying there :)

I just hope the US captures him and imprisons him for the rest of his life.

He's been planning this for years, and testing his plan. He will never be found, and in one last act of defiance will throw himself head-first into a plastic shredder.

Either that or we'll capture him in 3 weeks.
