A Brief About:
A mixed bag of nomads, traders, travellers, mercenaries and general ‘spacers’, the first Pilgrim found a unity of vision and purpose in a general love of space, discovery, and wonder in what could be out there. While their individual dreams, ideologies and missions may vary, there are four vital, central words to any Pilgrim:

Show Me Something New

With that sort phrase, the Pilgrims embrace the mission laid out by their founders, and start their own. Wash away the pain from the loss of their ancestral home-worlds, their terror at what caused it, with the knowledge that there is always something more. Look to understand the universe as it is. At the very least, see some memorable things along the way.

A short historical biography: Before the Exodus the UAS was one of the leading space phylas on Earth. Their economic prowess was only challenged by their ideological progressiveness. This was because they had managed to merge the divide between Islam and Christanity by merging the two religions into a new form called Chrislam. This new understanding brought forth a peace that fostered a new wave of scientific and cultural advancement. Something that was nearly lost when "They" came. Seeing the end times, the members of the UAS formed together to find a new home. They chosen were called Al-Ammar(The Devoted) and were selected to lead the charge deep within the reaches of our own galaxy on an ambitious mission to find New Mecca. They were greeted with success and began their new lives there, hoping to continue the work that their ancestors had started.

One question: do systems have one jump gate per connection, or one jump gate that connects to multiple system? IE Does my system have one gate linking to both N12 and Q13, or two gates, one to each?
 
So I must have missed this somewhere, what are the base cost of the space units? I saw the research and development cost, but I don't seem to see the actual build cost anywhere. Also is it possible to upgrade an existing ship with new technology? IE, you research a plasma module can you retrofit an existing ship with the new tech?

What are the base cost of the space units?

Costs are revealed after the ship is designed but base costs are generally 50 I per module. This is modified by chassis type. So a destroyer would cost 75 I per module and a fighter would cost 40 I per module.

Also is it possible to upgrade an existing ship with new technology? IE, you research a plasma module can you retrofit an existing ship with the new tech?

Alright that makes sense. So is there anything to do with excess resources once we reach population cap for our planets?

ah- great question. Lets say yes. For half the industry you paid.
 
If you are building more population support that will raise your population the next turn. Can you build something that would put you over the cap if you didn't build that item?
Example, you want to build on a new planet, but said planet doesn't have population yet. You're building a habitat on the world, can you also build a mine on the world since it should come online at the same time as the new habitat?

Also, if jump engines aren't cumulative, how do you get a range more than 1? Unless I'm reading that wrong.
