Out of the chaos of the random number generator comes a new saga. A story of heroes and villains, patriots and traitors, written in the blood of those unfortunate enough to challenge destiny and lose. The dream of Baleog is now a reality, and all shall tremble before the might of......PERSIA!!!!

4000 BC – Persopolis is founded on a river next to rich grasslands and dark jungles. In doing so we absorb a minor tribe, which pays us tribute of 25 gold.

3500 BC – Alas, a clumsy milk cow starts a terrible fire in the capitol which rages unchecked for days, destroying all imperial records! (translation: word crashed on me) But fortunately, not too much has happened. One warrior has been produced and is scouting to the north, where he has discovered little except sea and sand. Another will be produced soon to scout the south. Our worker is building a road to an incense deposit located near Persopolis. Our wise men research iron working, but it is very slow going.

3450 BC – Another warrior is produced and sets off into the untamed southlands, discovering gold-laden hills and imposing mountains.

3350 BC – To our north is a HUGE desert. To the south we see jungle and mountains. Not exactly the ideal conditions, but we must do what we can with what we have.

3250 BC – The friendly Assyrians have been contacted! Though they are but a minor tribe, they still have secrets to share, and give teach us of the Warrior Code…

3200 BC – Our people have incense! That should help counter the fact that we have no temples.

3150 BC – Our northern patrol discovers the English across the Barrens. We buy Pottery and Ceremonial Burial for 55 gold. They also have Alphabet, but we have nothing to offer for it.

3100 BC – One of our southern scouts finds ivory next to the sourthern coast. The good news is that we appear to have no neighbors to the south. The bad news is that the southlands are not large. Though not quite as hostile as we once thought, they will not provide a great deal of breathing room. With the Barrens and the English to the north, and the ocean to the south, expansion may be difficult.

3050 BC – Our northern scout disturbs a large nest of hairy Bavarians! He is badly outnumbered, but fortunately he is on a mountain….

3000 BC – HAH! Our warriors are victorious, and gain veteran status! Hail to Persia! However, this glorious event signals the end of an age, for the esteemed Emperor Raven must now step down. While the empire is still limited to only one city, a settler will be produced almost immediately. Roads have been constructed to a couple of potential city sites. It will be for Baleog to decide where the second city goes.

Unfortunately, I cannot post a screenshot at this time. I still haven't gotten a webpage going and I can't get the image size small enough to attach. I may be able to remedy this in the near future. I hope so. Until then, here's the savegame. Good luck, Baleog!

Yesssss!
IMMORTALS..
HAH Hah Hah hah

In the year 3000BC the emporer Little Raven stepped down from his throne in favour of his young disciple Baleog. It was a joyous affair with all looking forward to a continued rule of peace and research. However Baleog was much cleverer then Little Raven had realised and had managed to decieve the old man into where his heart lay. For I am a doer not a thinker; concepts such as "peace" and "science" are outmoded forms of rule. If you truly wish to rule it is by destroying all those on your path.

2950BC
A settler has been produced and is sent north to settle the fertile grasses that border with the barrens, so that it may act as an outpost against the fierce desert clan known as the English. One warrior in the south is sent north to explore the desert and the other is stationed on the mountain of gold to guard against any brutish hordes that may rise in the land. Orders are put out that the city must be protected and so spearmen are recruited. An envoy is sent ot the English to announce the news of my rise to power but thtat devil woman Elizabeth seemed not to notice and carried on as if I was my predecessor. I will not forget this act of gross disobedience to somebody who is obviously her better. She is now permanently in my bad list.

2900BC
The English are hoarding spice!!! My analysts say they have at least three times more then they will ever need. It looks like a war between my nation and their "nation" will one day be more inevitable then it already seemed.

2850BC
The English town of York is discovered. A hideous shantytown, it is located between jungle, forest and a great mountain. Clearly the English are wasting their time building cities where cities have no right to be. My advisors pointed out to me the similarity between the location of York and the location of Persepolis before they were routinely dragged away. No one must question the unquestionable greatness of Persia.

2800BC
2750BC
Baile Baleog is built on the edge of the barrens. Named after one of the all time great leaders in history it will become a monument to this civilization, my mystics asure me when I ask them.

2710BC
English warriors have been spyed going north of England!!!! Clearly there is something of great importance to the north of their teritory that they wish to keep quiet, but what could it be? It must be the fountain of youth or the home of the gods and they are now keeping it to themselves! They will pay for their treachery.

2670BC
The road from Baile Baleog to Persepolis is complete. Our worker heads south east to the shores of the great river Kpangkpang to prepare it's floodplains as a location for our next city.

2630BC
2590BC
2550BC
Both our legions of warriors in the north have spied new land, but great woe it is more desert.

2510BC
On this date spearmen began fortifying the capital of this great land and settlers wereordered to begin the colonization of the south. Yet mere desert to the north and to the north of the english. Foolish people to begin an empire surrounded on two sides by desert. My new advisors start to point out the location of the our cities but suspecting what they are about to say I call the guards to drag them away to be guests of honour at the now weekly public executions - bring the kids!!

2470BC
Yet mere desert ot the north are we cursed by fate to walk a bleak and barren land shared with only the most pathetic of "cultures"?

2430BC
Ahha - our warriors with their expert vision - a gift given to all those who born to our culture, proving we are the master race - have spied what they think may be plains to the north beyond the desert.
My mind is eased further by the news that our ancients - who have long been kept under lock and key in the darkest of our dark dungeons since the end of the rule of Little Raven - have finally pulled their weight and have discovered the secrets of iron working. Furthermore we have a supply of iron just to the south west of Persias borders and when our settler is built he will now travel to this place rather then to the Kpangkpang. The ancients shall now be allowed to die in peace.

2390BC
Cuses!!! The plains to the north are occupied by the Babylonians. These cretins have taken to the barbaric act of soaking their clothes in blood as a primitive dye. How else can you explain their red clothing. Clearly the world has no need for such people and must be dealt with in due couse. They are a primitive race and we have traded them 15 gold and masonry, ( a concept so simple even the most simple of desert rats has mastered it), in exchange for mysticism. I have no doubts that they found this technology in a hut as the don't even have pottery or iron working. Using the newly discovered mysticism as bate the English bent over backwards to give us alphabet at a cost of just 10 gold! Our wisemen now persue the art of writing.

2350BC
Baile Baleog has built a warrior who heads north to block off the pass that divides us from the English. We begin "recruiting" slaves in this town so that we may form a unit of workers to improve our road system.

2310BC
Harrapan barbarians have been spotted in the south and the warrior on the mountain of gold is dispatched to sent them to their next life. Tha Babylonians have iron in their border but fortunatly no iron.

2270BC
The wily Harrapan killing machine nearly killed our warrior, but nearly never won a race and after a turn of rest and recouperation our warriors contiue in search of their village. Our first worker is busy building a road to the iron. One of our warriors in the northern deert is been sent back to help defend the home land.

2230BC
The desert continues east of the Babylonians. This constant fight to find and claim new lands will have me insane if we do not find lush grass soon. The people also grow weary of the search and rumour has it that a great person or person known only as Cyrai will rise up.

2190BC
In an effort to appease the growing unrest public executions were made more frequent, but somehow the entertainment as only served to fan the flame of unrest. My personal guard has been sent to round up all the people known as Cyrai and their friends for immediate re-neducation but their is no one called Cyrai in the empire!

2150BC
In the north our warriors discovered maps which had details of a river in the north that marked the boundary of the desert. To its north were fertile grasses and rolling hills with no sign of human settlement. Alas it is too little too late and I know there is not much time for me before the fable of Cyrai becomes reel. However of my 87 children it is impossible that they will all be put to the pyre. Surely one day one of my seed will rise up again to become the lord of Persia.

( will post saved game in a minute)

Oh right found it . ssorry for freaking

2150 BC- Down in the southern end of the continent, animals are spotted. The warriors report them as toweringly huge animals, four times the size of a person, with deadly spears on their heads. One warrior says that he spotted a person taking off the spears of the animal and carving something out of them. Nobody knows what to make of this tale. Everything else seems to be in good order, with Persia obviously towering higher than the puny Babylonians, who know nothing.

A minor tribe of warriors is noted in the desert.

2110 BC- Across the desert, our workers spot distant figures approaching. They soon draw near, and announce themselves to be of the Zulu tribe. An ambassador is sent to them, and finds them also lacking in knowledge. A decision passes that we should not teach anything to them unless they are also willing to teach us. Unfortunately, they know nothing.

A team of wanderers leave the great city of Persepolis. They are instructed to make their way to the iron deposits, where a team of workers is already constructing a road.

The lone tribe, a race called Mauryan, is dispersed and all items, totalling 25 gold, are brought to Persepolis to go into the treasury.

2070 BC- A throng gathers around the palace, cheering and waving their hands in victory. They resolve to construct a palace, one that will be fitting for Persia. So has it been written, so has it been done.

2030 BC- All warriors continue their exploration. A decision is passed that another group of explorers should be sent off to found a great city.

1990 BC- The great city of Cyrus is hacked out of the jungle surrounding the iron deposits. The road is already constructed that connects Cyrus to Persepolis, all that is wanting is the final road to get the iron.

All other nations are noted to have created The Wheel. Cyrai, not wishing for Persia to be left behind, negotiates and secures this by teaching the Babylons Iron Working, and also paying them 5 gold. Some protest at this, but Cyrai reasons that they would have found out soon enough anyway, and everyone else wanted 50 pieces of gold.

1950 BC- The people of Pasargadae rejoice. The newly learned beasts called horses are already within out boundary, right next to the city, some even appearing on the already constructed road. This lets Persia build horses as soon as they are found. The gods are praised.

Pasargadae celebrates this by commissioning a team of workers to improve the town, while the rest of the citizens train warriors to defend the city.

1910 BC- All continue to explore. No new progress is made.

1870 BC- The English have become a greedy, arrogant race. Diplomats from England arrived, demanding the payment of 10 gold to be made to England. My advisor warns me that England has a top notch military, stronger than Persia’s. Since we are receiving much gold every turn, and land is more important than 10 gold, it is allowed. But Persia will not be walked upon!

1830 BC- The outskirts of Zulu territory are discovered NE of Persia.

1790 BC- England calls, demanding the withdrawal of troops that had wandered in to her territory. Persia accepts. Meanwhile a team of trained warriors is told to guard the city of Cyrus, and a temple is started there. Population growth is too slow to be able to build settlers there, so that is accepted.

1750 BC- Barbarians are seen wandering in the area below Persia.

1725 BC- The barbarians wander near Persia, and move within attacking positions. Pasargadae is now defended with warriors. A visit to England reveals that the English have discovered Writing, and they are willing to trade for 70 gold. A check to the science budget reveals that far more would need to be spent to discover this on our own, and it is bought from the English. It is also noted that England has found a new nation called Germany, and communications are purchased for 10 more gold. The English are money grubbers.

The German people lack both technology and money. When asked if they will purchase Writing, they offer 3 gold, the extent of their treasury. Cyrai laughs in their face.

It is realized that soon Persia will run out of building land. As a result of this, it starts preparing for war. Both Pasargadae and Cyrus begin production of Immortals.

The barbarians outside Persepolis are destroyed, causing the citizens to support Persia by building a second level to the Palace.

1700 BC- Forces begin to move toward the English border, preparing for the war that will come.

1675 BC- Nothing happens.

1650 BC- Nothing happens.

1625 BC- Nothing happens

1600 BC- Nothing happens.

1575 BC- Nothing happens.

1550 BC – 1500 BC: Nothing happens.

1475 BC- A settler is constructed. Unfortunately, King Cyrai dies of boredom after 200 years of sitting on his butt doing nothing. The search for a new emperor commences.

I think I played too many turns by one or two, but sitting around hitting the end turn button made me lost track of time.

Oh, by the way, Baleog, there is no Baile Baleog. If you meant to call it that, you never did. It's called Pasargadae in my game.

Yeah I saved the game before I wrote the story and only decided to call it that then. And then I forgot to save.
Feel free whoever plays next to change it back.

I resign from my post until further notice, as I am no longer able to play C3. I just installed Windows XP today, so I went to uninstall and reinstall C3. However, after the uninstall, the reinstall program has decided that it doesn't want to install, it wants to uninstall also. Thus, I am having a hard time installing C3. So skip me until I can play again.

I predict you'll manage to fix it before your next turn comes around. Often, succession games do not move particularly quickly. ;) But thanks for the notice all the same. Hope you get your problem cleared up soon!

Sorry I had to disappear on you guys. We had a release at work. I'm lucky to have a job that isn't too demanding, except at certain times. Unfortunately, we just hit one.

The good news is, it's over. Egads. Been pretty quiet here, hasn't it?

Umm..you guys do understand the 72 hour rule, right? If you don't here from your predecesor within 72 hours, skip them and take your turn. Looking at the turn order, it looks like CurtSibling should have followed Cyrai. Since he didn't, FSume should have taken over. Do you still want out, FSume? If so, it'll be Jest's turn.

We'll give FSume 24 hours to reply, either confirming he's out or giving us notice he's taking his turn. If we don't here from him, Jest should take over.

Again, apologies for disappearing. I just changed departments, which is why I vanished with no warning. I should have more warning next time.

Let's get this game back on the road.

Yeah, I am out.

Not much point for me playing until after the New Year. Too busy and out of town.

For future consideration, next time perhaps try 3-4 players. Maybe it would be more stable/reliable.

Thanks for the notice, FSume. Have a happy holiday.

Jest buddy, it's all you. Let us know when you've started.

I'll take your point under consideration, FSume, but since I'm one of the ones that disappeared (sorry again!) I'm not sure it would have helped in this case. :(

Jest hasn't posted in almost two weeks, and has disabled email and private messaging. This is not a good sign. I vote we shorten the customary 72 hours. Call me suspicious, but...

If we don't hear from Jest by tomorrow, I'm going to suggest I go ahead and take the turn. We need to get this game going again.

Any seconds?

Although I am not in this game, I would suggest you drop Jest. Email / pm disabled means he is gone.
