Imperialism II PBEM

BTW - Speaking of trade - There is one little ToTPP bug I have noticed lately...

When you are on the verge of discovering a tech, and you pile some caravans into a high-profit city, it can sometimes spaz out the tech system, and the progress counter (F6) goes blank, and no longer works.
I can only assume this is something to do with all the behnd-the-scenes calculations of the extra cities and trade routes TOTPP provides. It can be easily fixed by the cheat editor and hacking the tech progress.

I thought I would mention it, in case anyone runs into this bug...:)

Sorry About the Delay.

JAPAN
The Meiji Emperor, as his glorious Domains ascends to stand with the Gaijin Warlords on the global stage, welcomes peace, but will not hesitate to punish insults. We intend to renegotiate the Unequal Treaties inflicted upon us when our Splendid Isolation was forcibly ended, but, this renegotiation does not have to be done by bloodshed or destruction, but can be mutually beneficial for all involved depending on the wisdom and enlightenment of the Gaijin Rulers.

We seek to bring our less-developed, little-sister kingdom of Korea under our protectorate to spare it the depredations of the Qing Emperor and the spent enlightened rule and power of old of his court. While we expect a protest from the Ruler of Russia, we are not entirely bent on blood, having secured the Restoration of Meiji from the Tokugawa Shogunate, after several years of vicious bloodshed as it is, and we may be amenable to respectful dialogue on the issue.

GERMANY
No initial news on the turn except a polite request to the Russian Merchant Marine for their freighter to open the only waterway out of the Baltic Sea in reasonable and punctual order so two freighters of our own, laden with goods meant to be traded to foreign ports of call, may traverse to the High Seas.

United States of America
The United States hopes for peace and prosperity through out the world.
However, we reaffirm and remind the world of the existence of the Monroe Doctrine. Interference by foreign powers into the Americas against Independent cities is an act of war against the United States!
We intend to respect existing French and British colonies in the Americas but we can not allow them to expand and encompass greater areas within the Americas.
The European Powers have great opportunity throughout Africa and various corner of Asia, there is no need to destabilize world peace by invading sovereign territories in the Americas.

Also I did not set a PW on my file because when I loaded Patine's he was at end of turn Germany, so I did same for me. If I set the PW Britain would not be able to load my save. I can't quite recall but it wasn't like this in MGE; peoples games started on their turn not at end of turn of the other guy. I mean if I wanted I could seen what Germany and Japan were up to as well? Unless of course I'm a tool and playing it wrong. I just loaded the save via Multiplayer - Hot Seat. TCP/IP only gave me an option to save in .net

My turn started at the end of Russia's with the cursor in the middle of the Pacific (where I placed mine), so I just followed suit.

I don't think i moved the cursor off my map, but it's cool first turn anyways.

Glad we are finally Rockin n Rollin!

I probably won't finish this tonight. The British Empire sure was something!
Oh, only a quarter of the world's land area and a quarter of the world's population by 1914. The saying "the Sun Never Sets on the British Empire" was not actually an arrogant proclamation that it would last forever, like some thought - it was actually a very real reference to all the time zones it had territory in.

Britain is at peace with all her neighbours, until such a time making war becomes the most practical course of action.

Egypt, the Sudan, Ethiopia, the Levant, Iran, Afghanistan, Burma, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan and Sumatra are regions of interest to the British Empire.

The independence of Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece and Turkey are considered of high importance.

This list may expand.

OOC: And such a humble and unassuming list it is. :P

Note: had to Ctrl+n the end of the previous turn. A unit was flashing.

There doesn't seem to be a penalty for switching production in this scenario. Is this deliberate, or do I need to fix something?

Also, can we please put a copy of the house rules (and any other relevant information) on the first page, please.

The French are too tired to make diplomatic pronouncements at this time.

Guys, I realised a blunder in the name of a Russian city...
"Krasnodar" should actually be called "Yekaterinodar".

Krasnodar was what the soviets renamed the city in 1920. :)
Whoever is currently playing, feel free to rename the city.

My apologies for the delay. It was a ridiculously hectic weekend.

Nothing noteworthy to report this turn.

Struggle in the Western Territories:

A U.S. Cavalry regiment was slaughtered while patrolling earlier, in revenge and in the interest of stability our forces razed three Indian war encampments with more to come. The territory of the United States must be safe and peaceful for its citizens.

A U.S. Warship encounters British shipping in the St. Lawrence, waving friendly greetings.

In time the seas will fill with ships carrying trade goods from continent to continent.

Britain will only regulate her own waterways. Of those, Gibraltar and the English channel should remain clear at all times. If the Royal Navy sees the need, they have full leave to blast offending ships out of the water. This does not mean ships will always be cleared from the Channel/Gibraltar, but all merchant vessels should consider themselves warned.

Some skirmishing with rebels in Kashmir., with one cannon lost.

@McMonkey

Has the Czar abdicated his throne already? It's a bit early for Bolsheviks. ;)
