Imperium Universalis

Oh no no no. I was about to, but then I was like "REBELS? Don't you mean the Decepticons?"

Alternatively, I could be the rebels and Megatron takes over the rest of the nation, and I get like some kind of "Being Optimus Prime" bonus.

Well I already automated orders for the nation but I suppose I can rescind them...

If you're still here, no reason for Megatron to take over then! Short-lived coup is short-lived.

Guess they'll continue as off and on rebels for the time being...

Actually, I just realized all I want to do is play with Transformers. I hope I can get War for Cybertron working.

Advance to Economy 1.

Kaurava System
  • 20 LP into 4 fleets
  • 10 LP to 2 Armies
  • Invade Nova Jagalanda with 4 fleets

Now that Trollicane Irene has passed, I can post orders without worry of losing power.

Send probe to G3
Use remainder of expansion points to expand into G1

Raise two navies and two armies
Place enough money to advance into Economy 1, then pool the rest into Military

The media was like "ZOMG WORST STROM EVAR" and my yard was covered in sticks and a little damp. I think one tree limb fell.

How many times has the East Coast had an earthquake?

Now how many times has the East Coast been caught in a hurricane?

im fairly sure the east coast had many quakes that are too weak to mention.

Which is entirely irrelevant to the conversation at hand.

I'm working on the update as we speak - I have the next few days free due to getting all my college work done - but is anybody interested in continuing this?

There's like, zero roleplay.

What's roleplay?

(I'm playing in the sense that Starscream is an Autobot)

The problem, as I see it, is thus:
SMAC's four tenets, in rough chronological order, are Explore, Discover, Build, and Conquer. Despite two months' running, we're still in the Explore stage. With the notable exception of Farsight, players are not going to tangle in interplanetary affairs until they've consolidated their home base; I mean on average, we're behind the friggin' NPCs. Not counting the starting round, we've had what, five updates in 60 days? We can't afford large armies, we can barely tap tech, and expanding the economy is hindered by an aggressive unrest formula. If this were like, Turn 20, we'd have built ourselves up, but this game has barely even started.

Tanny, you really need to cut down on NPCs (or get a bigger map - both average # of planets in systems or systems in general) and increase update frequency. The map looks filled up to me, and I don't even know what the hell is going on or what to do.

Mary Sue factions do NOT make the game more fun.

Well, to make updating quicker, NPCs are now organised by number of provinces after some extensive copypasta.

With that, let's get back to the second of what will be a series of long, bloody, fruitless galactic wars - the Oscuran Conflict! Oscura and Sombra constantly joust for last place, so let's see if this war changes that!

Oscura builds 1 fleet with its 9 gold.

Sombra assembles 2 more fleets and 1 army with its 15 gold!

Sombra's 3 fleets attack Oscura's 1!

2 3
1 3
5 1

Oscura heroically holds off the offensive for a long time, but eventually succumbs.

4 5
3 2
1 5
3 1

While once more valiant, Oscura loses its grip on one of the colonised - i.e. no orbital guns! - home worlds.

Both states are left with their resources depleted - while Sombra has 5 provinces to Oscura's 2, both have minimal defenses due to bloody wars.

In addition, a handful of minor solar systems have federated so as to have a unified face to the other systems. However, the balance hasn't shifted much - the most prominent fusion is Espinis and Gallis into Borbis, with 17 provinces.

UPDATE

Diplomacy

-Nova Jagalandian War continues in F8; stalemate with slowly growing Kauravan advantage.

-Oscura and Sombra's war in G4 steadily slides in favor of the Sombra aggressors

-Various states have merged into one

-There are reports of tension between Venom and Corneria

Events

Boom Cycle (gives +5 income; deposited into a state's treasury)

Autobots
Kaurava
F7
I6

Bust Cycle (-5 income)

Coruscant
Metarra
Omnia
Spardis

Stock Performance

Stocks can rise and fall. For the time being, only the Banks have stock. But in future times, with more contact, it is very possible that large corporations can rise that span several solar systems. Provided you can find a seller, stocks can be invested in. Stocks rise and fall in increments of 10%(rounded or at least 0.1). All stocks start with a value of 1 Au. Game events, such as a bank being attacked or a bank being victorious, can sometimes forego the RNG, or enhance it.

Rise

Hurcesn - consistent stability has surged the bank by 10%!

No Change

Lylat

Fall

Northeast
Sentients

Revolts

Coruscant had a revolt! 3 provinces. Only 1 is successful.

Cragmites had a revolt! 1 province. Successful!

Lux, YET AGAIN, had a revolt. 1 province. Failure.

Notes

-All states do not collect income this turn; instead, all states have been given twice their ordinary income into their treasury!

-All states have had 100 added to their Econ.

-All states have had 25 added to their Civics tech. States already at Civics 1 instead get 25 extra gold.

-6 zones in remote galactic regions have been blacked out to remove them from play.

All these are hoped to speed up the pace of the game and make up for time lost to lengthy updates.

All income into expansion into Wen followed by any remaining income into Tempus Major. If there is any more income left after these systems are completely occupied put it into Army tech.

Advance to Army 1, Civics 2.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Econ. is 100 flat, ja? So that boost should bump me up to Level 2.

Expand 3x in Progenitos, 2 in Ayseros.

Oscura and Sombra constantly joust for last place, so let's see if this war changes that!
Pro Tip: It doesn't.

Half Into Civics, Half into Eco 2.
