Important Announcement About submissions:

Trust me, thre are always multiple losses. But even if you were the only one, you'd be up for two prizes - highest scoring and lowest scoring loser :D

I've been getting a 404 error when navigating to the GOTM submission page.

The submission system is off line for a few hours only (I hope) while we transfer GOTM operations to a new server.

Ahh, Ok. Thanks for the rapid response Alan!

The submission pages should now be working again. We are now running on a new server for GOTM (plus HOF and other stuff). It seems quite a bit more reaponsive than the previous one.

Please let me know if you encounter any problems.

In the game I submitted this month, I forgot to click 1 more turn, and exited to the main menu instead. It's my first GOTM and I just assumed you wanted the replay file.

When I realised, I loaded up again from an autosave 2 turns earlier, and just ended the 2 turns to get my victory. I didn't do anything differently the second time round, except I just selected random things to build in the cities that completed stuff those turns, because I wanted to get it over with quickly.

The score came out exactly the same.. so it should be cool.... right?

Sounds good. We have your submission. Good luck :)

Cheer dude! I was pretty pleased with it, although I'm not sure how my performance will compare to some of the people on here

Doing well in this game is relative to how much time you have in the simulator. As you see the engine and AI more you will get better. I know there's people here that have been playing on a different level than me. I've been playing the Fall from Heaven Mod alot lately and now Nilla Civ is a cake walk. If you want to get truely better at this game I suggest you play that MOD. It's easy to install and it will test your starting reflex's and in terms of GOTM score there's nothing more important.

P.S. Know your enemy!

when I come to download C-IV gotm7, I notice this:

This game will require you to have installed Patch v1.61.
ENTRIES NOT PLAYED UNDER ANY OTHER PATCH WILL
NOT BE ACCEPTED! :D

I played a adventure level of C-IV gotm7.
after get victory I noticed that at 4000BC session2,
session 3 and session4 start.
does that mean I reload 3 times?
I undoubted reload only once at 1592AD, a decent
game break. where show in replay file the "session 5".
does the 3 session is intended?

archphoenix,

Dont worry about the multiple sessions at year 4000BC... A couple of these happen before you ever get the file, when the host "reload" somehow the file to set up the game with the various difficulty levels. They are normal and there for everyone.

Ainwood reloads the save twice at 4000 BC before you get it. I suspect the first creates the start file and the second one is to lock the assets. Some starts seem to have a third session before your first one. Maybe Ainwood can throw some light?

got it.thanks

There is a load to generate the save, another when I set the class parameters, and there may be an extra one (or not) if I modify the save. Sometimes I modify it when I first generate it; sometimes before I set the classes, and, more rarely, sometimes after. In theory, there could be 1, 2 or 3 sessions starts at 4000 BC (theoretically even 4 or 5)....Then the player loads it.

I tried to browse to the GOTM page several times today, but i get the same error:

"Unable to determine IP address from host name for gotm.civfanatics.net"

Are there any problems, or its just security from tha admins at work.

Thanks
