I added the grass and flowers as new features. They don't affect the yield of the tile in any way though, and you can still build improvements over the top of them. I'm still testing it but it seems to be working well.

Next release should be soon. Any requests for features? I can even add some landmarks, like the plateau I added for the desert screenshot.

Yeah I was partially wondering about the plateau. Does that show up randomly? Does it give any yield bonuses?

Or is all of this just aesthetic?

Looks great. :goodjob:
Chuggi, would you mind if some of these new features were 'stolen' for the Planetfall (scifi) mod? Resources there definitely can use a new look since its in an alien setting.
I do have one remark: abundant grass outlook on Tundra?

IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!
I wanted the terrain to go this way - more details, and more natural wiith grass, stones.

I like the grass especially. (tough i agree for tundra the grass should be more yellow/brown and some stones with lichen and moss shoud appear) :)

Completely aesthetic. ;) It shows up randomly, and I have it so that it's rare and it shows up in the corner of the tile rather than the centre.

I wouldn't mind at all! :goodjob:

Thanks :)

So for the tundra, I'll remove a lot of the grass and replace it with mossy rocks. I'll also make some snow-covered flowers/plants as some rarer features.

Great! :)

Check Sezerth's terrains also (for FFH and Fury Road) - some of his ideas there are also interesting (like craters or dryed (wich represents tundra in Fury Road, but properly mixed could be used as futures for plains and deserts) terrains).

Onet thing i'm sure now. Old Civ4 with your upgrade of graphics will win another test of time

Hmm, maybe waterfalls on hills/mountains (probably too hard to do though). You said you were making graphics changes to the leaderheads too? Any previews/updates on that? (and the Hitler LH)

I might be able to do something that resembles a waterfall, but I don't think it's possible via XML to restrict features to hills.

I made Ghandi's skin a bit darker, but that's about it I think. I haven't made any progress on the Hitler LH either :( (BTW that's not going in this mod - it's just a side project I'm working on).

This really wasn't a request, I was just throwing ideas out there, so its no big deal.

Damn, that sucks. I didn't think it was coming out with this IG mod, I was just hoping it would be coming out, that's cool though, again there are other Hitler LHs out there anyway. Thanks though, keep up the good work.

Very cool idea, but I do have a concern. Does the presence of these features block forest/jungle spread to that tile? It'd be meaningless for a desert plateau, but I'd rather not have pretty-but-useless grassland flowers preventing new forest growth.

Possibly, I didn't think of this actually.

I'm not sure what I can do about this, but here's some ideas.

- The same way forests grow, I can make the grass disappear.

- When improvements are built over the top of the feature, it can disappear.

- Also, the features don't cover up every available grass/plains tile, which leaves room for forest growth.

But I can't think of a proper solution to this problem, so I'll include specific instructions on how to remove this component, if you wish.

I don't think forests spread that often anyway, perhaps you could just make the preponderance of grass lower than what you had previously.

Another solution is to put the grass feature on another terrain type. Floodplains for instance. Or let the grass feature only appear on grassland/plains terrain adjacent to rivers if no forest is on it. That kind of spot is usually the quickest improved so new forests don't have a chance growing on it during a game.
