Accidentally pressed the post button it seems, so we'll split this up into two parts instead of one big lovable chunk.
Here we have Dido offering us a hand in
Friendship, and since we are a real long ways away from Carthaginian lands, this will probably mean that she won't backstab us at some inopportune moment or two
And because we made Friends with a more immediate neighbor Napoleon (who most certainly covets our lands), this leads to Dido becoming friends with him too and thus the world was happy...
The thing about our close neighbor the Arabs was that they were very Hostile right after we denounced them
But that was way back in the Classical Era, its now deep into Medieval anyway
It was certainly an interesting sort of request, because he had some units bordering Vienna on the same turn that offer was given... not that it mattered, what with those two mountains and jungle hills lying around
In the aftermath of the Chinese War, the realization came upon us that Wu had reverted to "Neutral"... and not so much Hostile Neutral as it was Friendly Neutral. We don't like random probabilities, so to make things set in stone, the decision to call out that wicked empress of Zhongguo on her vile, cruel ways to the entire world was made
This immediately turned her to
Guarded, which is the AI's callsign for "we really don't like you but can't do a thing at the moment"
Thus with this newfound knowledge of Chinese weakness, war was declared
It was a good time because we had a couple of Trebuchets to complement our comp bows and lonely melee, and so Guangzhou was taken
Beijing looked to be a little tougher to storm, especially with Cao Cao at the helm...
While we were busy eviscerating China to the north, down south in our newfound attempt at a midgame ICS a troop of Camel Archers were spotted
Not sure what they were trying to do, and we needed to double check the diplo screen twice to ascertain that Harun and Maria were still friends
See, not long after that we had peace with Wu again.
Then that treaty came to pass, and we had a new backer who very much wanted Beijing to be in his oyster
Who you may ask? It was none other than our very own dear friend, Harun al-Rashid
The highest in military demographics was Napoleon, who was busy spamming tons of
Musketeers and ICSing his huge bit of this huge continent
And Hiawatha just didn't care about that and went on to DOW him
A religion being updated with less than stellar beliefs:
A random Austrian composite bowman was sent out to the far western wilderness to explore this continent further, and spied upon a curious gathering of Carthaginian units here (they made peace ages ago)
And though not shown, Ramkhamhaeng was also spotted with a large host of Naresuans some turns ago too
We told the Caliph Our Friend that war was to be declared, the Chinese put to the sword, in some ten turns.
We had sorta forgotten about that in the meantime spent half-ICSing and exploring...
So coming into range of Beijing with her Chus and pikemen was a half-hearted affair at best
Our workers playing block the settler:
Those lands back west are mine, ALL MINE TO ICS, now go away
But that half-hearted affair was reinvigorated by the coming of our Arabian allies, who were
dumb kind enough to provide us the fire support needed to take out the Chinese capital
The Doom of Two Chinese Pikemen; Truimphant Austrian Will
But that settler was pretty adamant in heading west, which left us with little choice but to do something that we could have done elsewhere on less desirable personas like say... Hiawatha
Oh well
Why I never... but nothing really new eh. I was pushing out plenty of cities like this new fellow here, and yes, in case you are wondering, Vienna is still able to build the National College...
A crucial wonder for Wide Empires, best mixed with
Representation
Is that an Iroquois spam city I spy in thou list, Nappy?
But that proved to be a false relief when not only did our lovable New Yorker settle Chondote in our deigned backspaces... but he entered Industrial way before us (T197)
A poor entry for I've seen better from him and others on 6... maybe the wars and neighboring aggressive civs helped
The thing about Huge is that I should not have relied on only two caravels, and I should have gone into Astro way earlier, because the amount of hex tiles there is even with speedy sea travel is ridiculuously
HUGE
But we finally found other continent... and in successive orders, we met the Necromancer of Babylon
The Red Queen of Englun
... and Darius, who had the least cities amongst the giants Babylon and England. There was one high score fellow we hadn't met yet, could it be Germany...?
But our wonderances were dashed when Tech
and Score Leader Hiawatha finally decides he has had ENOUGH of Austrian ICS
Ah Hiawatha, I always knew you were a dickstabber. Never change
But anyways, let's get back to our conga line of newfound civs: if Darius had the least amount of cities, then it was
Bismarck who had none but his cap
Well, so much for panzers in this game
French ICSing in action: at war with Siam, they now proceed to roll over his Naresuans with gunpowder units and grow even bigger than the norm
But they were not the only ones... our neighbor the Arabs too were expanding voraciously
And there was of course Hiawatha
and finally, a small tiny red line of orderly seeming cities bearing the helm of "Austria"
And oh yeah, Germany got knocked off the game. But who? We wondered who could have outspammed the landsknechts, and suddenly things got very cold in the room when pause was given for that thought to coalsce
It meant very bad, bad things about our last unmet fellow, "low" in score as he was
Oh and Darius took Berlin
