In what order should one play Rhye's and Fall: modmods?
So after many months with BNW, I am fatigue with Civ 5. I can't help but to come back to Civ 4: RFC. After loading RFC: Europe, RFC: SoI, and RFC: DoC, I got my head hand back to me on a gold platter thrice. urrghh. totally forgetting about some of the RFC mechanics.

Out of the 3 RFC modmods which one is easier (to hardest) on Monarchy? Also, out of the 3 RFC modmods, which ones is the least update, or complete (to the one that is continually updated) ?
I also like RFC: CW, loading up the Celt and seeing all that old European pristine forest. But for that one I think I'm going wait for that one the designs are finalized.

Eventually I like to completed every CIV UHVs on Monarchy, even if it's going to take years. Thanks for any feedback! :goodjob:

I would say that the range of difficulties between the modmods depend on which civ you are playing rather than which mod.

But in general RFC Europe is the "plentiest" of the modmods. Meaning that you can get could production and teching easily. It is also the most crowded. But download the SVN, it is far superior to the v1.1 and fully playable.

RFC Europe is probably the most forgiving, in terms of being able to make mistakes or face setbacks and get away with it. In DoC, the deadlines for victories are usually quite tight, so if you make some mistakes or have bad luck it can be difficult to recover in time to win a UHV. But in Europe you tend to have more time and scope for the UHVs.

I'd recommend Spain to start with - Cordoba is nice and easy, Iberia is a good location, and you have plenty of time to get established and kill Cordoba, with all your target regions being green or blue so no real stability issues. You also get to use the new religion mechanics with prosecutors to remove non Catholic religions, and have lots of time to do the last UHV, which is probably the most difficult as England and Germany often go Protestant and end up very large.

After that, try Venice. Again, a nice easy start with a good location and it's pretty easy to get the 1st UHV. Then you get to hijack a Crusade (save loads of gold and wait until the Pope calls one) for the 2nd UHV, and again lots of time to plan for the 3rd one (I recommend trying to capture a city in Iberia from whichever of the civs is weaker, usually Cordoba if they're still alive).

Try to use the SVN, as ezzlar says as it's more up to date.

I don't really like SoI that much, so can't really advise there.

SoI is finished- not that that fact alone makes it better (though it is very good and polished nonetheless). I agree with them that RFCE has the easier UHVs in terms of making mistakes. Just don't play France, or the 1st UHV will kill you. Also, the first half of RFCCW is pretty finished, except for the consistent problem of a weak Rome.

Development under spaceman98 has somewhat restarted. It is playable, but no UHVs and balance isn't very good. Mainly because most civs last way longer than they should.

I tried the SVN update with DoC, and found the current version has collapse disabled. So I revert back a stable version. However having glimpse at the new stability mechanic, I am willing to wait for all these new exciting changes.
I like SoI, and it's stable enough/finished. I'm going to start with that one first.

Using SVN is a good idea anyway. (almost) All RFC modmods use it. So you can always have the most updated version of all RFC modmods. And if the current version is temporary buggy (like DoC), you can always use an older version.

RFC Europe is by far the easiest, in my opinion. I've never had any problems with stability at all there. However, the last time I played was 6 months ago.
SoI is rather hard because you need to have some knowledge of which will happen when.
DoC has the same problem, but as it spans a larger time period and area the special events (trade company conquerors in China, Singapore, India and southern Africa, conquerors - but you already know those -, Seljuk spawn around 1100 AD...) are better known thus more predictable.

RFC Classical World is probably the most diverse of the modmods that aren't focused on the entire history of the world (like the original RFC or DoC). Difficulty varies a lot by civ i.e. with the Romans you can dominate the Med, but as the Gauls you may get conquered by AI Rome! It's less about collapsing (although it is a mechanic, and you can collapse!), and more about being collapsed. Usually by other civs conquering or beating the crap out of you. Or yourself doing the conquering. Barbarians are to be feared.

RFC:CW is "Greek World: Improved and Playable!" essentially. It's still in active development, so expect oddities and bugs. UHV/UP/UB are almost entirely complete (I think Lombards are missing some stuff, but it's done besides them).
