My avatar is now + Scrooge Hat. I can't believe my eagle looks even more disapproving.

Another option would be to make the eagle green, like the Grinch but I don't think I could manage to do that.

You could probably change the tint to make the blue turn green (I've done it with a car photo) and then add some red trim manually. I was thinking to do this to make my eagle Grinch-green, but that would change the stripes on the flag too and that's not so cool to me.

I liked when Lucy had Van Gogh's bedroom painting (I've seen the original). I'm a big fan of Van Gogh, except his portraits... I don't like distortions of people in body or face for some reason... kinda clownlike. I love his stills and landscapes. Anyone care to look into the psychology of my taste in Van Gogh? I think it's obvious enough... I'm very clear about myself but not so much the things around me.

I've considered using this (my favorite painting) for my avatar, but it doesn't look very good in small-scale:

I've spent quite some time staring at (exploring) the original. The more I looked, the more it gave.

Spoiler :

It took a good 20 minutes before I realized that the sky is not blue, it's green. Someone pointed this out for me while we were standing there staring and I was like "whoa, how did I not see that before".

The painting is about man destroying the earth with monoculture agriculture (according to Van himself). It's named "The Reaper" for more than one reason.

Seeing the original is important, especially with oil paintings (they're three dimensional... a subtle change in lighting sweeps changes across the canvas).
