Independence Day

Looking good, we've still got 110 turns to launch.

Remember, once we've got all the necessary techs, just farm and workshop over cottages. It goes against my soul and is probably a very sick thing to do, but launching in time is more important.

Also, let's not forget to trigger the GA when most of the parts are in production.

Quick breakdown of component hammer costs (assumes copper and aluminium):
casings 400*5
docking bay 1000
engine 1600
life support 500
stasis chamber 1200
thrusters 600*3

These costs are halved with elevator and labs so shouldn't be a problem; more a matter of deciding to build what where (not forgetting golden age). So I don't think we have to worry too much about building workshops on top of towns.

remember that copper/alu don't half the cost but give a 100% production speed for that part
if you already have 150% bonus from forge/factory/energy/laboratory you only get a net speedboost of around 40% ontop of the other bonuses
space elevator is even less than that

if needed we can also build hospitals instead of super markets, although i don't know if they cost more hammers

PT: Rearranged some specialists.

1941:

1942:
Great Artist is born.

1943:

1944:
Fiber Optics > Fusion
Space Elevator Ready

1946:
Apollo program ready.
SS parts planned all around.

1948:
Golden Age started.

1949:

Great Merchant born.

1950:
Fusion comes in Ecology next.
WE also get Great engineer.

1953:
Ecology ready, Composites next.

1957:
End of Golden Age.

1960:
Only three parts left. Longest one is the one in Colombia (5 turns)

I leave the honorable job of 5 enters (maybe 4 with more workshops) to next player or Pigswill to taste Victory.

Save

I say we give pigswill, as our captain, the honour of pressing the big red button.

This has been a good game and fun playing with you guys.

Nah, its stuge up next :goodjob: (and I'd probably mess it up, cancel the builds and invade Isabella). :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

If we've still got 3GP left we could finish with a second golden age!!

Edit: Craziivan, thanks for clarification re cost of spaceship parts.

nah, I added the GM and GE to Colombia for extra boost.

We could launch in 1969.... One small step for man...

1969 Sounds good; would require a bit of MM of course but a nice finishing touch.

Okay, I'll do the honours then.

Rem said that Colombia would take 5 turns. I'm certain 4 more turns could be added to that.

But we are the de facto industrial and technological leaders. We could get SEALs
and carriers and jet fighters... and finally show Toku who's the boss.

Muahahahaa!

But I promise to be nice. 9 more turns coming today.

Upon opening the save, I MM Colombia to produce the life support system in 9 turns and prepare mentally to push enter 9 times.

Then I spot this:

Woohoo! This will be much more interesting than I thought. :hammer: Such a shame that we don't have a single SEAL...

Now, that expedition could be worrisome, if we didn't have some spare cash...

Next turn Toku declares war and lands his stack next to Brazil. Thusly begins the epic struggle, modern armor vs. cavalry.

Nobody knew how it would end.

After our navy hunts down the Japanese ships, the threat to our east coast is over. No Pearl Harbor, rather too little, too late.

The Jap, however, won't give up.

Civ4ScreenShot0018.jpg

But our navy musters the courage to go against battleship-dwarfing frigates.
(Got to love the CIV ship scale.)

Meanwhile, Nagasaki meets her demise.

Civ4ScreenShot0023.jpg

And they still keep coming.

Civ4ScreenShot0021.jpg

USS Pillager to the rescue!

Civ4ScreenShot0022.jpg

After that humiliating experience, no more Japanese forces showed up. And the war and all the other earthly things were left behind with one small step in 1969.

And this is how history will remember us, the great Migrationists.

Great game guys. I advice everyone to grab the last save and have some fun. I know I will. Seattle can build the Manhattan project in 12 turns...

Maybe if we'd not waited till 1969 we could have been Abe Lincoln. Not to worry. We won very comfortably in the end.

Thanks chaps for turning a half-baked idea into a good game. I enjoyed it.

Looking at the number of views it seems we weren't the only people following the game which is nice.

Nice game all and job well done! :goodjob:

It's seemed like a tough challenge but we pulled it off with flair!

Very nice to launch in 1969!
