In fact, it'd be real helpful if you could expand the unit list to include all of the different unit artstyles (which in the vanilla game only includes the settler) now that third party mods can use that system. See, e.g., R.E.D. Modpack.

EDIT: This uses the Civilizations table "ArtStyleSuffix" entry to reference additional ArtDefines without adding new units to the Units table.
I just gave it a look and it seems like we cannot set the art type at runtime, through LUA. Did you ever notice a function that looks like it could be used for that?

Spoiler :
Hello Zodiak, those are great news, thank you very much! :D
Russian is the second most-spoken language among Steam users so I am sure your addition will please a lot of people.

Regarding v30, so far I didn't add or modify any text key. By the way, you probably noticed a "changes.txt" file in the Localization folder. I use it to keep track of the new features and bugfixes, and also of the text keys added or modified that have not been translated in every language yet. Or you can use a program such as WinDiff instead: keep a copy of the old en_us.xml, then compare it with the new version, WinDiff will emphasize the differences.

PS: Kisses and viruses, you know how to make a splendid entry on CivFanatics. ;)
Yay, I am so happy being useful!

Damn fast you are! Thanks!) :c5influence:

Add: It works!

Manually putting this mod in my mod folder caused all my other mods to mystreriously delete themselves. And now the Subscribe button on Steam no longer works for me.

Explain yourself.

Explain yourself.
Please allow me to introduce myself. I've been around for a long long year, spreading my ultimate virus under the cover of IGE and falsifying all the 683 posts before yours under multiple and secret identities to bait avid cheaters. Today IGE finally reached the two billions downloads count, which triggered the conclusion of my plan. I then went down to my secret cave, pressed the red button I specially have made manufactured for this event, and I unleashed the mighty power of my baby over the world! In a couple of hours it shut down all the Indian power plants, seized the whole US nuclear arsenal, transfered most of the European loans for Greece to my bitcoin wallet, swapped all of the Swiss chocolate and French foie gras with McBurgers, and it finally erased every civ5 mod around the world. And just for fun I also hacked Valve to disable the subscribe button. All your base are belong to me, resistance is futile.

Hope you guess my name.

Or my secret plan failed and Valve messed everything all alone, I am not sure, I still have to check my bitcoin wallet.

lmfao...

Lord i had that happen to me but thats only when i decided to play "offline" from Steam. The only thing i can say is make sure you remain online and resubscribe to the mods you lost.

On a whole different topic... Those of you who have been here since the first versions may remind me talking here and there about how I should try to replace the standard strategic map in order to get a map that would fully react to any change you make. Well, I finally started it for Reseed (in order to preview the map and save long generation times) and it works like a charm and it looks exactly like the standard strategic map. So you should expect to see it integrated into IGE once I am done with the new version of Reseed. I am really happy because it's one of the two big features I wanted to add to IGE for a long time (the other one being UI shrinking) and I finally found the courage to do it. Even better: civ5 didn't complain too much so far, although I still have to run tests on very huge maps.

Oh I see, that's what happened. Seems pretty crappy though to lose all our mods just because Steam went wonky for a minute. The Gaben save us!

You dastardly ROTTER! :mad:

I think using this mod may have mucked up my game. The game stops working when I click to end my turn now. Possibly because of landscape editing done with this tool.

Seems kinda pointless to use if simply using it so so incredibly dangerous.

Other mods I was using were the Community Call to Power, City-State Diplomacy Mod, Building Upgrades, Promotions Expansion Pack, Religion Beliefs Expansion Pack, Religion Improved Customization.

This is really getting depressing, I've been trying to enjoy a game of Civ 5 for the past 5 days now and if it's not the AI being irrational(I DENOUNCE YOOOUUUU!!!) and all ganging up on me and it's mods making the game not work.

Hello,

I don't know if this was caused by IGE or it is simply something I may have done too much of with IGE. After a few turns all my cities look like this (running G&K):
otAOI.png

Also, I know I added a few extra national security agencies (adding spies), it worked initially at adding more spies. Now, they all appear to be dead but never seem to regenerate? (Or I'm being impatient).

@Lord Proteus
I never heard of such a problem witg IGE and it's very likely not related to my mod.

@Aroen
This is obviously a civ5 bug but who knows what triggered it. Did it happen just after using IGE? If it didn't, then IGE is not the culprit. If you do have a lua log I may be able to tell you more about the cause, although I am pretty sure it is not IGE.
Regarding the spies bug, again, this is a civ5 bug, not something we can overcome.

The best way is to make sure your mods are compatible, and that they are dated to the newest version. In some cases the bugs will come when the game is in progress by many 100 turns. It seems a dumb tipp, but i have encountered similar problems. But i can confirm that IGE is one of the best mods, and it doesnt cause bugs like this.
Also CCTP is in the testing status and maybe not compatible with other mods who change the same lua files.

I did it to as i tried and to figure out a way to aviod the Civ5 freeze and crash. Since it was online i decided to go offline and thats where the mods disappeared unless i downloaded them as they remained on the mod list. So in some cases i'm having some issues in downloading new mods since then.

the unit bug fixed but something else is showing.
This on the units, terrain, and buildings. I have never seen this before from past versions.

@Mars83
You mean the ID and Type on the tool tips? Yeah, I added it recently, see it as a help for modders (for all of us who ever printed a mere ID and then had to locate and browse the XML files in order to see what that ID was for).

Ok so its not a bug or a glitch...ok just being sure.

I believe i reached my breaking point in G&K DLC due to the freeze and crashes. Time for vanilla!

I share your pain, it's a lot more unstable. :(
But you will need a non-updated version of vanilla and many mods may not work. I guess your bet bet is to use some torrent versions.
