Aim: To make the inevitible Zulu War one of Phony Pacifism, this meaning that we try and initiate the war without actually starting it. While Pacifists will gripe, they will accept the fact we need to attack, not because of expansion, but because of defense. Our world reputation will be held intact, and our militaristic/expantionistic needs will be met. Everyone will be happy (I hope :) )

Thoughts: Am I blowing hot air? I might, I don't know. I'm just proposing something that maybe the citizens of Japanatica can agree too. I don't mind if this idea is shot down, because I understand it might be a bit odd. If this garners enough support (and I hope it will!), then we will take this to the MoW and the President.

How are you?: I'm fine, by the way.

;)

Rome is small and doesn't have space to expand. As the poll goes we'll settler their iron too. Probably easy target for quick war if we prepare well.

I sure hope the poster named Zulu does not see this or he will create a new version his infamous "Wrong Forum!!!" animated picture.

 @ Rik

Anyway, If we do go to war against the Zulus, we should stock pile some swordsmen to crack the shells of the Impis with just one unit. Remember, if one of the Impis defeats our swords, we would triggar a GA for them.

I disagree about war at this early stage in the game, but if we decide to, I would also agree with going against the Romans, as we would then own a horizontal layer across the continent, which could be used in future wars.

Excellent thread, Dominik. You are not "blowing hot air". Although I believe we are not ready for war yet, an "aggressive defense", as you propose, may well be the correct way to enter our first war. But I'm one of the people who think the Romans should be the first ones to taste their own blood by means of our swords.

Good idea Dominik, but if we were to invade the Zulu, that would leave us overstretched and with no real defensible positions. I advocate an attack on Rome first. It wouldn't take long to get our troops there and with Roman territory we can quickly reinforce and consolidate our boder.

I think we should wait the Samourai before starting a war unless a war is realy needed.

Though we should be prepared to any aggresion from our neighbours

I would think that using Dominik's plan would take a while to really irritate anyone enough so they declare war on us.

Attacking because of defense is bull. If you don't want to get killed, then don't give them an oppurtunity. If you're so scared of them you feel you need to defend, then don't intigate.

We don't need a war with anyone yet.

The best defense is a good offense. You don't need to give anyone the opportunity to get killed, if they want to attack you there's nothing you can do to stop it. It's not a matter of being scared, it's more of protecting our national interest and preventing a potential problem from rising.

We definately need to wait until we have samurai before we attack any one. When we do, though, I'm for attacking rome.

Who said they want to attack us?

I haven't seen any indication of it.

Its us who want to attack. They haven't done anything. It's us who want to attack. Appearantly to ward off aggression. ;)

That's normal. Found an embassy and they'll be polite (I think).

And they'll be a lot more than annoyed if we attack them.

Yes Epimethius, you should consider the diplomatic screens before you start your beatnik Yoko Ono rhetoric. We are in 1000 BC and allowed to to use brute force.
Too early for us prehistorical Japanaticans to embrace utopian Yoko Ono practices :) LOL
Annoyed 1450 BC, is almost furious in these modern days.

I'm confident that we can win a war against someone with stacked Swordsmen at this age...unless they go against Legions.

If we conquer Rome and settle the gaps, we split the continent completely in half: Iroquois & Babylon on one side and France & Zululand on the other. This is a stretegic place, being able to regulate flow and contact.

I ahve to go now and leave my post unfinished.

Perhaps then we can go for a histograph victory.
