Instant Karma 3 civ/player, no AI

Nah, it´s just that deep down we are still all tribal savages.

you watched that settler move to that site gradually, why didn't you contact me. I haven't explored the Maya territory so don't know how close you were. but so be it.

Actually no, I did not see that Settler at all. I only noticed your culture suddenly appearing and sent that Holkan to investigate. I would have let you be if it was defended by a Skirmisher, or at least more than two Warriors, or if that Holkan hadn´t coincidentally earned enough XP from animals two receive two promotions, but as it is all things just lined up perfectly for this attack.

This game is infected with darkness of soul.
Kinda heavy duty dude.

Is it "darkness of soul" when a lioness takes out am over-straying neighbor to ensure her growing young ones survive?

I am with ImpK & over-expanding=risk... especially against smart, experienced Humans that know the eventual outcomes of early events/actions.
Once again, it's fun, decision-generating tradeoffs; the essence of a great game, like Civ(!). :goodjob:

Some of us choose to spend our turns & resources establishing units that can explore or defend (or attack :trouble:). Others don't explore or military much, instead choose to do the rapid expansion before others can claim good land & resources.

If the 1st group doesn't set some boundaries & teach some lessons of "gain may/must have some pain"... who will? The barbs won't or can't (since we all know how to handle predictable AI attempts at pain). Or should they stand by & watch their expanding neighbors engulf their civ?

There are several of both in this game it seems. I have a similar situ up N with the aforementioned expander. We have talked & i hope he understands (like we all should), over-expanding has it's rewards... & it's risks. :nono:

I personally try to take a balanced approach. A sort of "Defendable Expansion" preceded by prudent exploration. :scan:

gps'd to Nap/ImpK.

Interesting war announcement... all 3 team civ's are listed for both sides.

The Malinese defenders fought valiantly, but was it enough?

Spoiler Answer :
No. No, it was not.

Moving right along... gps'd to ImpK/Nap

Interesting... shortest war since the 6-Day!
Hm-m-m, all silence from the warring parties. How did it work out gents? :scan:

I razed the city and made peace, that´s all that happened actually.

Perhaps there are some mechanics of team play I'm not yet aware of.

However, wanting me to trade gold when I only have one, would mean I'm left with none.

Not a good trade for corn or wheat, or other healthy stuff...

If U R directing this to me... don't totally understand.

Since U R a different team, assumed that any resource shown on Diplo screen = surplus. Apparently not?
I totally agree... i would not bother to ask for trade if i had known it was only 1.

Raises the Q... does any 1 team member's screen show all team's resources? I think not. Anyone have any other conclusion or thots? :crazyeye:

Nope, resources are a player, not a team function. I have so far only traded within my team, and even there I don't have enough for everyone. Specialization is key for this. If I for example only had one Copper and one Horse it would make sense for one civ to build Axes and Spears, another Chariots, and the third Archers.

Btw would anyone be willing to part with Stone for a while? I have a surplus marble I'm not needing at the moment, and I want to build Duns as Celtia. I promise I'll not use it to accelerate wonders.

Hercules seems to be a sourpuss about open borders.

STUPID BARB WARRIOR KILLED MY ESCORTED WORKER IN A FRIGGIN FOREST WITH 9.1% ODDS

KenWyn would you please be so kind as to move that Byzantine Woody 2 Warrior four tiles southwards to avenge me?

For more positive news the Mayan city of Chichen Itza has been founded, a little way south from Djenne´s ruins.

Also I´m impressed by the speed of this game, in fact it´s about the only one I got any turns from over the last few days now that Nighthawk has disappeared.

Too bad, so sad. :sarcasm:

See now why i named the game "instant Karma"? U killed poor Herc's warrior + city & karma got U the very next turn. :lmao:

Totally agree with nice pace. Good bunch of Civ Fanatics. :hatsoff:

What cay some of U silent ones?? What's happening Michkov? methinkso?

It gets even more funny: That barb warrior appeared on the single tile between France and Celtia I did not fogbust for a single turn, AND as I see now that he is headed for Paris he not only got two promotions out of this fight, HE DIDN´T EVEN GET HURT! :aargh: What a ridiculously contrived streak of bad luck! But now I´ve got Copper, and boy am I gonna make him pay for what he did in blood.

Also I´ve finally met methinkso. :wavey:

Hercy, why won´t you be a dear and open your borders?

Also I´ve finally met methinkso. :wavey:

Hello! :wavey:

While all y'all are out razing each other's cities and fighting over scouting rights, I'm kinda enjoying peaceful living in my corner of the world.

Two of my civilizations are on a continent separate from the rest of you. Makes for a peaceful existence. For the time being any way.

KenWyn was the one overly paranoid about being scouted out, and I briefly played with the thought of denying him open borders when he asked for them.
Also it´s not my fault Hercules is throwing so easy targets in my direction.

KenWyn was the one overly paranoid about being scouted out, ...
Paranoia is not my issue; it's about tradeoff's (what & where to build) & not being as dumb as the AI. Actually, it's kinda humorous playing with humans that just can't resist the urge to be curious. Especially when huts are turned on; that lottery urge kicks in also. :D
Playing some of the GofM contests i'v learned that the guys that rack up ridiculous scores almost never scout anything beyond their immediate area but instead focus on research, city building, & initially build only enuf defensive units as necessary for protection & citizen control. Then they worry about where other civ's are later, when trading is actually possible.

Also it´s not my fault Hercules is throwing so easy targets in my direction.
:agree: I have to concur... Herc, perhaps U R a bit too trusting, or too ambitious(?), too early in games?

The otherwise Peaceful Portuguese have also felt compelled to clip the (American) wings of the over-growing Mali+Sumeria+American empire.

We seek only New York.
Wise :king: Herc, the ivory & it's worker must be controlled by the much-closer Port's. That is our limited objective of security for our future generations.

Blessed with THE best combo of civ's & especially, Leader Traits, we weaker combo rulers must act now or succumb to eventual domination.

Archer rush? Huh, that's a new one.
Say, why does one of your Archers have Garrison I and Drill I when Joao isn't Protctive? Saladin is though, hmmmm. Do I smell unit gifting? :scan:
