Something can be said for a lack of new construction in areas with some serious rent control areas. Would you as a devloper invest knowing your could have serious profit limitations imposed? That is if your allowed to build in the first place. No money to be made, no homes being built. I know if I were devloping I would look somewere else.

One wonders why malaria was 'beaten' in North America? Well, I don't wonder, 'cause I know. But DDT was banned here too.

And the free market. You'd think the free market would kick in with alternates, since millions and millions of customers existed who needed some type of malaria intervention. Now, 2008, at the best solution we have are DEET covered nets. And how do we get them to the endemically poor? Well, through charities, because the endemically poor still can't afford simple solutions to malaria.

$7 buys a net, a netted family drastically drops its rate of malaria.
Is anyone going to help? Or just lamblast the liberals?
