Interesting Screenshots

Well, there's an easy solution to that- just come up with questionable evidence that Carthage is building Weapons of Mass Destruction, and you can invade them and get the rubber. ;)

I think you need to build an Intelligence Agency first so you have someone to blame for the mistakes and misinformation. Otherwise it might bust your rep.

Yeah but you know what? On the next turn I may well see the fateful words, "Korea has signed a Mutual Protection Pact with Carthage". Or even better, "Korea has declared war on you!"

Note to self: if/when I go back to this game, disband ALL RoPs before pressing [Space]!!

Well, Korea's just in the Axis of Evil, then. If they're not with you, they're against you, and plotting to kill you!

That pretty much goes for every civ in the book. Especially the ones allied with you, the ones you least expect. :shifty:

Especially the Spanish Inquisition? Because nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Someone needs to edit the Diplomacy files to have one of Spain's threats make reference to the Comfy Chair.

I keep playing games... I keep coming up with Strange Stuff:

Spoiler Map Generator Has A Laugh :

(and no, there are NO luxuries on any of my three islands; I have 2xHorses at least, but no Iron, and no Saltpeter)

At least you now know the map generator hates the AI as much as it hates you.

Once I selected a 60% Pangaea, and got a tiny island start.

Hmm, another reason why I play only on pre-generated continent and archipelago maps, or find good ones in the user-created maps sub-forum in the Creation and Customization forum.

Although I do remember one of my early games where I had a Pangaea with an enormous inland sea in the middle of it. It reminded me of a vertically compressed donut. Very odd.

Well, GOTM 105 was supposed to be a pangaea too but that didn't stop civ_steve from banishing us to an island start. Maybe this just reveals what I have long suspected - civ_steve is really a sentient AI map generator sent to torture me on a monthly basis!

p.s. - it is a small consolation that he is torturing the rest of you on a more frequent basis as well.

If I were seafaring, I'd have safe passage to the main continent with Galleys+Lighthouse - except I'm the Iroquois. As things stand if I could get a handful of Galleys safely to the other side I could ship-chain it, right now I have a dozen of 'em strung out between the starting island and the former Hittite island.

I won't be doing that - there are Pikes/Muskets/Whatever over there... it's another game where I close up shop after a specific objective. I would probably try to win this Diplo, unless I got bored and invaded with Infantry/Artillery/Cavs.

Why are there 2 different Sumerian civilizations, where did all the VP Locations come from, and how big is the map?

Oh yeah, isn't that a pretty old bug? I remember that there was an SG based around it, where everyone was the Zulus.

Yeah, and we tried to win by Diplomatic Victory.

It didn't go too well, but it was a pretty funny game.
