Interesting Screenshots

Hey, what happened to the 512 city limit?

:wow: Surely you're joking.

No, it's no joke. The 512 limit is set in stone.

That's because you have a scientist specialist (or more than one... the point is you have at least one) in one of your cities. They are producing science independantly of the research rate, and since the maximum number of turns you can spend researching one tech in 50 (40 in vanilla and maybe ptw), you'll get the tech for the absolute minimum cost in that number of turns. This is called the "lone scientist" research tactic.

Dont know if this is common or not most times i play on 0% science one day i seen this

I have seen that too... i notice it happens around that late late Middle Ages, and Industrial Ages... normally get 47 turns for the techs though, if not 50

What I find amusing is that you are in the industrial age and still have not discovered printing press.:crazyeye:

I always skip unnecessary techs in the Middle Ages (except Military Tradition and navigation) I might get Chivalry, economics, and if i really want to go out on a limb, democracy, but i usually let the AI get that, and i get like nationalism, and i trade nationilism for like 3 techs and some cash, and if i can, luxuries/resources

If you built a city and joined all the settlers into it, it would be size 153!

153 factorial? 153! = 2.0063439050956823947782887469891e+269 according to Windows calculator. :D

@ Bartleby: So, when did the next cultural expansion take you to domination limit? Or did you not wait that long before taking a city? :D

@ psweetman: Yes, 40 in PTW as I recall.

Wow. That just seems like way more than 379 cities.

You're hilarious. :sarcasm:

40 in Vanilla and PTW, 50 in C3C. And to annoy everybody, here are the maximums from the Conquests (assuming I can trust the editor):

Mesopotamia: 40
Rise of Rome: 40
Fall of Rome: 400
Middle Ages: 40
Mesoamerica: 40
Age of Discovery: 80
Sengoku: 40
Napoleon: 100
WWII in the Pacific: 40

Yes, you can always trust the editor...but you can't always trust the civilopedia in-game.

@Mirc and Desertsnow: Mapstat can tell you (most of the time) when borders are about to expand so you just need to keep an eye on that. In that particular game I was OK, but if you get careless...this is the result.

o thats why im still fairly new at this game, i never research printing press. can any one link me a page to help me with scientist specialist

@King Hannibal: Try Bede's article for starters, and in addition try to dig up some old threads about that topic in the Strategy section.

So why do you have domination enabled. Forgot to disable it I guess?

It's a challenge of a different sort to go for Conquest with Dom enabled. I'm planning a game to do just that. :)

Getting back on subject, I have a screen I would like to put on here, but not sure how to go about it. I guess I need to install a graphics program to do it?'
Oh, and the sun lacks the mass to become a black hole, generally it would need to be 50x larger or so.
