Interesting Screenshots

It has been reported that a Rockefeller, when asked how much wealth would be enough, said, "Just a little bit more".

Maybe my trade advisor is named Nelson

I just thought this was incredibly funny when it came on my screen.

Well, of course he's upset. You don't have any spices!

I had pretty much the same thing.
It was incense that I had only one source of, too.

edit:
here it is (under 2nd spoiler)

Ok, you win! Your gal has my guy beat for being just plain greedy. That is quite a row of goodies :goodjob:

:lol::lol::lol:

barbs.jpg

When I was first exploring with my little 3 move galleys - that didn't survive the attempt to get back to the next continent - I discovered this little island with a goodie hut.

I grabbed my only spare unit at the time -- a reg spear that was going to be disbanded anyway and took him over to see what surprise we might get... it was barbs.

Two barbs attacked him and he defended with 1 hp lost. I just picked him up in my galley and headed off to his doom in the channel crossing.

When I took out the Portuguese city at the end of the game, that remaining barb was still there but I noticed that he has only 1 hp left - why didn't he heal?

But I just thought it was all very funny to see him still there - no wonder the Portuguese lost the war so badly.:lol::lol: Makes me worried about playing them in their turn.

"There are Barbarians near Castelo Blanco!"- Portuguese Military Advisor, every two seconds

No wonder you pwned them.

This was (as you may be able to tell) unintentional... in fact I didn't even know it could happen.

The set-up: I'm transporting troops through Egyptian waters to the last Mayan city (I really, really, want them out of the game to prevent a couple of their cities - Pyramids and Sun Tzu - flipping on me).

Egytpians are not friendly, and I don't want to sign RoP with them. They're my next target. So I'm sailing without RoP.

One turn a Galley with a couple of Knights in gets a boot order, and I can't see where it's gone... I had kind of hoped it'd been booted to some neutral coastal waters just outside the Mayan city's borders. Then I found out where it had gone:

I know you can get booted overseas if you can see the land/water in question... but when you don't even know the land is there? Now I have to hope that I can get Economics as a monopoly tech and use it to trade for Astronomy... otherwise I'm risking a suicide run just to get my Galley back!!

I did a quick count and that is the closest -safe- spot to your location. weird fer shure

Well, you at least got contact with another civ it seems.

Nope, those cities are Zulu, they could get there with the GLH but if you look at the mini-map you'll see I have a complete coastline map and know everyone.

i was really bored the other day, so i started a SID game, which is far about my level, so to make it more fair to me, i used the Civ MULTI Tool to set myself really far ahead of everyone, and i think i did it a bit too much so, and i found that this happened

"Our Treasury is running dangerously low!"

My only question is... how did you get that much of a deficit!?!?!?

haha, I think it wasust a litle glitch. the next turn it nearly doubled in negative bonus, and I lost 1 unit, but when i went into the advisors, and checked where i was losing that much money, it said i was losing -91 to maintinence, and that was it, and i tried to change the science/lux slider, and when it didn't let me, i got out, and i saw my deficit had changed to a +209...... idk what happened
