Why isn't Spain dead yet? :p

Spain almost never dies in my games.

Looks like my former allies, Aztlan and Persia, have all their ducks in a row...

All those frigates are returning from their mutual attempt to take out the German' last island city. I'd declare war on Persia as soon as I built up a tank force, and most of those Persian frigates were blown apart by one destroyer. The Aztecs parked their frigates off the Persian coast, for some reason...which came in handy when I recruited them as my allies. The Aztecs were the only power in this game I didn't reduce to a rump state or destroy completely.

This is from my story. The Germans just were traded out of the Ancient Age for gold, I am about halfway through the Indusrial Age. I exited the trade screen, went back, and got this message...

I think that it's opposite day in Germany. Look at the minimap in the corner, Germany is the Blue city in South America.

That happens all the time dealing with Bismark...

That happens all the time dealing with Bismark...

Ain't that the truth. He was an ancestor of Baghdad Bob and those genes just don't go away.

When I saw this start for India it was the first thing I thought of...

Yeah... no contest

That's uncommon.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture at the time, but I shared a decent-sized island with two other civs, which were gone by the mid-middle ages.

Then I meet the other civs, one of which is Germany, who had an entire island bigger than mine to themselves, and they were no isolated!

To be fair... I have played a game where I was alone on a goodly-sized continent and 5 Civs were on the other. And no I didn't complain. I was busy breeding my cities like Sumerians to fill my coast.

@Bowlsing: Was Germany backwards at all?

Well that was certainly unexpected.

I don't get it. Is it that the settler pair is exactly where you were going to place a city?

Not only that, there's also the fact that it comes from a completely unexpected civ.

so how did you handle it?

Doesn't matter, a better spot would be 1E then 1NE.
