Who needs a pile of unused settlers? Do they cook??

they might be saving them up to smash into a city and make it really big fast.... or they might be waiting to grow some new cities fast and instead of starting off as 1, they want them all started at 5... who knows, besides the person running the game

Check this out - this dude's talking about the integrated defense and computers and the like, and I'm still working on ironclads.

That text box must be wired wrong, it pops up when I hover my pointer over ironclads.

77 settlers
It's a bad habit of mine; when I'm re-settling for milking I'll spend ages reducing the populations of the towns I'm adandoning by rushing settlers, but instead of merging them into my specialist farms straight away, I tend to pile them up and then I spend a couple of monster turns adding them all in.

Can I safely assume you're having no problems with unit support costs? :mischief:

I do that too, but with railroads.... ;)

If you built a city and joined all the settlers into it, it would be size 153!

Hey, that would be good to try in a scenario, make like 100 settlers and add them to a size 1 town. Or you could put 500 settlers. And turn them all into scientists. You'd only loose 1 pop a turn.

In C3C you can't add settlers workers to a town that is starving, unless it is rioting. Not sure if it was patched out of vanilla and PTW.
The exploit was known as "worker dogpile" and was banned from GotM & HoF.

From my memory, it was impossible in C3 1.29f.

Actually, I was paying 160 gpt in upkeep, but doing comfortable research:

Spoiler WUXGA :

Yes, that's definitely what I'd call NO PROBLEM with unit support. :p
