What makes that screen shot interesting is the fact that, thanks to that inland sea, a seafaring civ started its capital in the middle of the continent.
Usually the seafaring civ has the problem of a coastal capital, making it difficult to optimally use the low corrupted area directly around the capital. But not in this case.
