I have this thing happening which is a real puzzle to me.
I used to play Civ4 BTS v3.19 (from the one DVD complete set + patches 3.17 and 3.19) on my old PC with Windows XP. I've now moved to a new PC with Windows 7. I've read about the issues about Civ4 and Windows 7 and I was able to install the game and the patches no problem. The only minor thing happening is that on the opening screen I get an error message saying that no voice capture device is found, but anyway I can live with that (I've also read in another thread that this is happening to other CivFanatics too).
The strange thing happening, which I can't explain, is that on the old PC, after patching the game to 3.17 and then 3.19, the interface game messages (e.g. what a city has produced, what technology was researched) were correctly "flushed at the end of the turn", as the text for the vanilla patch 1.52 says. What you get at the beginning of the turn is all the little icons showing up on the right-hand side of the screen. In terms of gameplay, I find this a very nice improvement.
Now, what's happening on the new PC, after having run all the patches etc, is that the interface game messages still happen at the beginning of the turn. I really don't know how to explain this.
Please help, how can I move the interface game messages to the end of the turn?
