Internet clients each take up 100+ MB RAM

Chrome uses separate processes for each tab. You can find better statistics in the browser itself (I forget where, tools or something).

1. Content on Webpages need to be loaded somewhere (your RAM)
2. Firefox has memory leak issues which cause it to use 1 GB+ of RAM if left unclosed and used for awhile.

Might be spyware. My Firefox used to use over 1,000,000K, now it's less than 500,000K after I got a bunch of crap (including two different versions of Rootkit supposedly) removed.

I thought the memory leak issues were resolved a long time ago
