The war on the home front continued. The American command planned for the next stage of the war to be an attack on Mugla. Brutal fighting between Turkish and American forces continued in the fallout covered area.

Although the USS Phitsanulok had been sunk, most of the Turkish navy in the Sea of Istanbul had been defeated. So the US fleet began assisting the ground troops. However, the Ottomans had a sizable army between Istanbul and the city of Mugla.

Also, this close to their capital, the dedicated troops of the Turkish fatherland fought with an astounding ferocity.

The US Airforce continued supporting the ground troops, doing massive damage to Turkish forces, while the fighters protected the American forces from enemy bombardment.

American forces finally captured Mugla after a long siege and months of fighting. The battle continued in the desert around Mugla, with the American robot anihilating Turkish troops.

Although the Ottomans counter-attacked several times, they were not able to beat back American forces. The American command determined that the next target would be the Turkish capital itself.

While fighting their way to the capital, American troops captured some workers who explained that they were Russian citizens who were taken prisoners by the Turks and put to work. American forces allowed them to go to Marsin and get passage back to Russia if they wished. And the Russian leader thanked the US for freeing it's citizens.

American forces continued advancing, although taking some losses. But if wasn't long before they were on the very doorstep of the proud Turkish capital.

Glad to see dis being updated too!:goodjob:

Looks like the Ottomans are finally getting their just desserts to their warmongering ways...

Awesoomee!!!!!!

Looks like you've got Suleiman there. Do you think he'll call it quits once you've taken Istanbul?

I doubt he'll be willing to give me all the cities I want in the peace deal, all the ones he's taken from the Songhai and Russia.

Looks like the Ottomans are finally getting their just desserts to their warmongering ways...

Yep, they've had this coming for a while.

Update for the war in the north coming up....

Spoiler :

The war at Haerbin continued. As mentioned before, the American troops at Haerbin had assembled a stockpile of guided missiles, and had done some considerable damage to Ottoman troops in the area.

But the American command became concerned that the Ottomans might try an attack on the aluminum mines north of Haerbin. The aluminum mined there was crucial to the entire American war effort.

The few American forces there headed north in an effort to protect the aluminum mines. Desperate fighting continued for months, but finally the American troops, after being bombarded by artillery, were defeated.

But thanks to the American navy and a heroic armor division Haerbin had hastily put together, the Ottomans were not able to destroy the mines.

Eventually though, the Ottomans began an attack on Haerbin itself, and came fairly close to taking the city.

But with the arrival of some ships from the US eastern fleet, the Ottomans were beaten back. Haerbin remained in American hands.

Spoiler :
After liberating the city of Kumbi Saleh, American forces prepared for the attack on Kukia while they waited on an American general to arrive. After the general arrived, American forces moved in and began the siege.

And in a suprisingly easy victory, American forces took the city in less than a month. It was then restored to Songhai control.

The American high command planned where to go from here, and eventually decided that the plan would be to first liberate all the Songhai lands, thereby cutting off Turkish reinforcements to Russia, and then to head back north and liberate Moscow and the rest of Russian territory.

Good job liberating those cities. I tend to do so even in my regular games as well. Less of a hassle.

Do you think you're going to keep going once you have liberated the cities you want to or no?
