Into The Future

well, I got brave new world, so I'm making a new story!

The account i am using right now is for my mobile device. Since I am away, a new story won't come out for at least a week.

PS: Trayvon didn't deserve to be blown off bythe American Judicial system.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed or not, but the pictures in this thread are gone again. I've reached the bandwidth limit on Photobucket, but it says it's a monthly limit, so maybe the pictures will come back next month. I may just have to redo the entire story with FlickR(:wallbash:), and hope it doesn't have these limitations.

You could also try doing it with Gyazo (Copy Image URL). Not sure if pictures delete on there or not. I think I'll be using Gyazo for my next story.

Imgur, too, would be a tad more forgiving, and I don't think it requires an account.

I might check out Imgur, but for now, FlickR will do.

I also wanted to apologize to all my followers for the lack of updates recently. But update coming today. I put if off no longer!

After liberating Songhai lands, American forces moved north to liberate the occupied Russian lands. American forces first captured the Turkish territory of Bodrum. Although not actually a Russian territory, the US gave the territory to Russia.

And finally, American forces began the siege of Moscow, the Russian capital.

The city's defenses were quickly beaten down by the American artillery and stealth bombers. Finally, on January 15th, 2147, an American robot entered Moscow and liberated it.

About a year later, the last city on the continent occupied by the Ottomans, Novgorod, was taken as well.

In early February, 2148, American and Turkish negotiators agreed to meet in Gao to discuss peace terms. Finally, the Treaty of Gao was signed, bringing an end to about twenty-one years of war.

The northern continent had been liberated, and the Ottomans defeated, with many not even considering them to be a superpower any more. With the best economy and military in the world, the United States entered the post-war period, hoping for many years of peace.

As American forces began to pull out of Russian lands, some Songhai and Russian people cheered, yet some others saw their own government to be no different than the Turkish occupation. The dictatorships of Russia and Songhai had remained intact, and many Songhai and Russian people were still discontent. The US believed that it didn't have the right to change the government in a foreign nation, but it had protected the Songhai and Russian people from foreign domination, and allowed them to work out their own destinies. Only time would tell if they would ever overthrow their totalitarian regimes themselves.

I wish I had rocket artillery as well trained as yours... Awesome update

Thanks. Yeah, I don't think I've ever had such a powerful civ and such a promoted military in any other game I've played. I don't know why this one turned out this way.

Lurkers Comment: i've been a lurkin for quite a while now, just thought i'd say hai :D

I know I mentioned this over in my story, but nice work! I'm enjoying it so far. (As of this post, pictures are back by the way.) I really like the switch from just the facts to incorporating some historical story-telling.

I'm curious, I want to start a game like this and I know there is the other thread you linked to at the opening, but wanted to ask here, what do you (or anyone) think about turning off city razing to elongate the game? It would serve to create a no-mans land of cities that are low population and easy to capture but would have to be overcome before advancing on the opponent's core cities? I'm not sure how much the AI razes cities so it may or may not be useful.

Thanks, and yes, I noticed the pictures were back up. :)

About your question: I guess it's really just however you like to do it. I don't try to extend this game. I just play like I normally would. I prefer to leave city razing on, because it's more realistic that way. I have even thought that if I do another story, I would use a raze all cities mod, because it really makes no sense that capitals and city states cannot be razed, although I guess that was done with capitals because of the Domination VC.

I've heard people talk about how that what made that ten year game so good was that it wasn't intentional, it just happened. So I personally prefer to play just like I normally would, with city razing on. But you can do it however you like.

lurker's comment: yay the pictures are back up!
