Here is the save.
There is good news and bad news.
Good news: I managed to get G-powder. And Printing Press. And Oxford. And the HE. And a couple of Trebuchets. And a couple of Islamic missionaries.
Bad news: Cannon plan got thwarted by Pacal: I'm not going to charge head-on with cannons as top defenders when your opponent has rifles.
So I set research to Rifling. I think Nationhood mass-drafting + Trebuchet whipping is our best way out.
We've almost completed RP. IMPORTANT: We can trade RP to Darius for Economics.

He got from Annoyed to Cautious because of the +4 'fair' trade modifier.I doubt vassals can make demands; it would be fairly idiotic if they could.

Had a quick look. We are a little low on military and will also need to spam a lot more missionaries. Not sure if additional infra is need now. Our UU is also outdated and we need to shoot for Cavs...

Rifles are faster to get and draftable. It may only be a matter of time before Pacal gets some killer tech like RR or Assembly Line, so my advice is to go for Rifling and ignore cavs - just because they won't come in time.

Alright folks! FINALLY woopdeedoo has pulled finger and played her set! HA!
Everything went ok. Got a bunch of Islam missionaries out. There are a ton of forests outside BFC's across our empire so the workers all got a choppin'! RP and Rifling are in, set MilTrad in the mean time. Now might be the time for us to consider setting the slider to zero and upgrading our units.
On units, there are a number of stacks scattered all over the place. I am unsure as to why this is. Maybe once we upgrade all the units, we can consolidate them all into a fist of steel!!!

I'm afraid to say I've really lost interest in this. Its marginal whether we can win (or to put it another we can probably win but it will be a long slog) and the game has dragged on too long with too many gaps to keep some momentum going.
My preference would be to abandon this game as 'not enough fun'.

Personally, I blame myself for not being nearly as active as I should have been active in this at ALL. The stalling of this game is completely and directly my fault. But yes, perhaps a new, less restrictive variant would be more fun.
Not to mention I'm starting to get a bit more free time.
